Upsetting.......2007-12-30
The camera has been very useful and reliable for the past 7 months or so, good photos and the IS system is extremely useful especially when taking night time shots without a flash! HOWEVER i have had a constant problem with the lens, sometimes it would not retract and sometimes it would, sometimes it would not come out, and sometimes it would. Now having had it for not even a year the lens is stuck and will not retract at all. This means that i cannot use the camera as it will not turn on without telling me there is a lens error and therefor turns off immediatley. Very dissapointing for a Canon camera. Would not deter people from buying but would get them to double check the warranty they are given when buying it from any store to ensure it covers error including the lens! I have a friend who has a canon although not this model and exactly the same fault appeared on his after only 7 months! Come on Canon get it sorted!
Canon but.........2007-12-25
I owned this camera for almost 6 months now. I tried almost all settings and possible manual and automatic settings but I still get blurry pictures. I bought this after seeing my friend's photos with an elder model of Canon but this has been a great disappointment. Yea it it takes some good pictures but many bad ones. The nice strong body, long battery life and different image settings are worth nothing if you end up with a bad picture.

Unfortunately I'm very disappointed with this camera as I thought I was buying a very good one. Two in every ten photos seems to come out blurry or dark even worse than our old Olimpus (2 Megapixels) which never took a blurry photo. Then to make things worse when I tried to return the camera I couldn't print the return label on the first attempt and when I tried for a second time the label didn't even appear. I then tried to contact Amazon to complain and this was an impossible mission. First of all they don't show cleary on their website how to contact them, and secondly when I used the contact number that Amazon provided the only thing that you get is an automated message with no opportunity to leave a message yourself.

I think this is an amazing little camera, we have been using is for close to a year now and had consistantly great pics for a point and shoot. It also take great video and the battery life is amazing!

I have had this camera for about 6 months and love it. Much better than previous compact cameras I have had.
Advantages:
* no delay from pressing the shutter button to taking the picture
* Image stabiliser
* multiple focus points
* Its a Canon - so it has a good lens and takes beautiful pictures
Disadvantage:
Just one really - you have to remove the battery to charge it.

this is the best piece of musical equipment i have ever bought, it plays full movies, music video's and has a much better sound quality and battery life than the ipod. I love it to pieces and would reccomend this product to anyone. Its amazing and so easy to use.... like the look of this product?.... buy it. When choosing between an ipod video and a zen, i would definatly choose a zen as the battery on my video ipod only lasted six months, iv had my zen for a year and a half, its still going strong and looks the same as the day i bought it. i was also unsure whether to go for a Zen or an Ipod, and im glad i chose the Zen!
with the Zen u can use Windows Media Player 10 to transfer song, videos and pictures all at once!
Although the Zen doesn't come with mains charger, it does come with a USB charger, plus If u also own a PSP, the PSP's charger will charge the Zen!
the only problem i have with the Zen, is filling it!

Firstly I want to stress that it does not come with an ac adapter; maybe that is not an issue to you but I wanted to use it in hospital so I had to spend an additional £30.
Some issues: It is quite large and chunky but despight this it is still very portable. Bizarly the screen is best viewed with your eyes looking down towards it but it is still clear and vibrant at 90%. The clicking sound it makes when the touch pad is pressed is anoying but easily switched off. At first picture viewing was slow and I experienced 1 graphical glitch but it gows much faster now for some reason. Sometimes when watching videos I accidently turn up the volume to painfully loud when my thumb touches the touch pad but I am solely to blame and the sensitivity can be reduced. When you switch the screen of whilst music playback continues it would be nice if you could still skip tracks and change the volume but I suppose that defeats the point of locked mode. Microsoft are to blame for this: doing my part for society until recently I had DRM (digital rights management) switched on but to my delight I discovered that WMP would not sync these tracks to the Vision:M even though I had the copyright to do so! Also some of my manualy added album covers would not transfer over even though I made sure they had the correct specifications recomended by various websites. Lastly as a JVC Everio user I have had some compatability problems with home videos but this isn't an issue with, hard drive hogging, AVIs and WMVs; and I think that normal MPEG2s are also unaffected but I am unsure.
What I like: I love the shade of blue light that the on switch and 'face buttons' emit I think it is the most beautiful artificial light I have ever seen! It has fantastic Windows support particularly in comparison to the iPod. In my experience when comparing both screens on the lowest brighness the Vision:M is far far superior to the Video iPod. The screen also looks very sharp and vibrant. The hard drive, although sometimes audible, is very quite and I am yet to fill it even though it contains +1800 photos, around 18 hours of video and 128 hours of audio! The support software is useful but I find it easier to transfer videos and music vir WMP. One of the best features is adding files and folders meerly by right clicking the selected items and highlighting "copy to Creative Zen Vision:M" and choosing either data or media. I find this particularly useful for transfering pictures as it also maintains the folder structure if you do so desire. The battery life is also impressive (around 4 hours of video and +12 of audio with the screen switched off) although recharging is painfully slow over USB so you may want to buy an ac adapter for home use anyway. Dispight my long list of complaints I think this is a fantastic product which I highly recommend and which is, by my experience, the best source of portable entertainment around; well for PC owners anyway :)

My parents, lent me monies, to get this player, and after uploading Doctor Who to it and showing it to them, they could agree it was well worth it
It does come with a charger, although it is in about 4 pieces and has to be assembled
The packaging and software is awesome and not cumbersome whatsoever.
The sound is fantastic, although invest in a LCD screen protector, so that the screen does not get scratched or finger marks on it.
The audio side of things is awesome, although make sure the file names are kosher and correct before you upload.
Anyway, this beats the Ipod version hand down and comes with an FM radio and voice recorder built in and the final fantastic thing is that it is 30 GBS

I spent ages researching what kind of player to get and was overwhelmed by the brands and different models available (the reviews on here were really helpful!)
I finally chose the Creative Zen 30gb and am really glad I did. This is my first MP3, but it is so easy to use. The software was really easy to install and use.
It's taken no time at all to load lots of music and photos on to the player. The sound quality is great (though I may have to invest in those in-ear headphones) and the picture quality is excellent.
The controls are rather sensitive but they're fine once you get used to them.
The battery life seems pretty good so far. A useful touch is that it turns itself off after a period of inactivity, which saves power.
It's annoying that a mains adaptor isn't included, but I think it's pretty standard for these things.
In all, a fabulous player; beat the crowd and get Creative!
