Not what its cracked up to be.......2007-11-12
I bought this camera based upon previous reviews. It certainly ticked all the boxes, but after using it for the last six months I must express my dissapointment with its actual performance. I have a five month old baby, which is why I bought the camera really, in order to be sure that I got loads of great pics. However, with this digital camera I find that if you try using it with the flash off, in any conditions, you end up with a very blurred image, certainly none worth keeping. If you try using it with the flash on, it actually takes the camera three seconds to take the picture, meanwhilst the poor little tike has been blinded by the repeating flash, and is therefore sitting with his eyes closed by the time the camera finally gets round to closing the shutter. The repeated flash is in order to prevent red eye, but depite this, most of the pictures taken with the flash on still result in the subject having red eye. I do think that people are being blinded by the fact that its a Sony, and therefore must be great; dont be fooled!! Overall, a big dissapointment, its tempting to go back to my old 1.2mp £70 olympus, the picture quality may not be great but at least it works!

I was just about to buy this camera for 168.99 when the price shot up to 198.00. Even worse when the supposed "original" price was 179.99
Can't Fault It!.......2007-06-02
First of all, when it arrived I was stunned at its size! It really is tiny, small and slim enough to fit in a pocket on a pair of jeans, making it perfect for going out with etc.
Secondly, the pictures which it takes are fantastic! The Super Steady Shot feature really helps to avoid blurring - I haven't taken a single blurry photo yet out of about 100.
The battery life is also good at the moment, I'm getting over 2 hours of power with each charge (but obviously this will decrease with time.)
One criticism of the camera which I could make would be that, due to its small size, when it's dark it's hard to see which button you're pressing, and I have often ended up pressing two at once.
Other than this very minor criticism, it's definitely the best camera I have ever owned (upgraded from a DSC-T3), and well worth the money!
tiddly super camera.......2007-05-18
so far so good! i wanted a small compact camera with limited shutter lag and good macro shots for close up shots for work. it's fab. the macro seems to almost touch the object i'm photographing and is still very very clear, and there's no shutter lag that i have noticed. it's so compact that it's very easy to carry around. only downside was ordering a memory card and a compact bag as extra. it does come with abuilt in memory which i used 'til the spare memory card arrives. the brochure it arrives with lists various options, and lots of the camera cases looked quite chunky, not what i wanted! amazon didn't have the smallest on sale but i found it on ebay.

Fantastic.......2006-11-24
One of the best buys I've ever made.
Bought this 2 years ago the week they arrived in the UK while I was commuting 4 hours a day. Only had to charge it up weekly even then.
Even better it's smaller than any I-Pod I've ever seen, looks as good as, if not better and while I'm still using this my I-Pod buying colleague is on her 4th I-Pod after batteries dying, players dying etc and her excuse is that she's stuck with a load of tunes copied so they only work on Apple players...
Think ahead everyone. Buy what you like as long as it can play MP3's. I doubt you'll regret an HD-NW3 or NW5 (apart from when you're trying to remember the bloody name).
