A great little camera.......2008-01-08
I bought one of these on ebay 18 mpths ago with no warrenty and the flash went after a month. However, I got by using the ISO setting when filming inside. I have found it give good images in all light conditions for a camera of this size and price. I suspect from some of the reviews I've read that some people either can't use the camera properly, or have the expectation it will give the same results as a 12megapixel SLR camera. It won't. But it will give great pictures and you can carry it around in your pocket. I have had no problems with the delay in taking pictures that some people mention. Though, the lower the ambient light level the longer it take to focus. I am particularly impressed with the recovery time on the flash. I have been so pleased with its performance I've bought another one with working flash on ebay this christmas and it simply reinforces my high opinion of the camera. I use one for general and one for outdoors when I'm walking or climbing. Its great as I can share accesories. I have also been impressed with the video quality and its sound. If you are looking for a cheap 6MP camera, buy this. I have friends with other makes and their pictures are nowhere near as good.

Recently bought this camera (June 2007) to take on holiday to Spain. (£127 through Amazon from Pix Mania - and I see it has gone up in price (bargain) - excellent price.) Bought a 4Gb (Official) Sony Memory Stick for approx. £40. - Can take 1,334 pictures at 6meg (Over 5,000 pictues at 2meg) and up to 3 hours of VGA Movie. One full charge lasted me 7 days on holiday without the need for a recharge. (Although I did only take about 400 photos and a few videos). Previous reviews said that the opening slot for the battery and card was flimsy and could come off. I have had no problem with it up to now. Processing speed is excellent (even with the flash, which is also excellent). Burst and Multi Burst option is brilliant, particularly 'burst', when taking shots of the family it takes 3 pictures a split second apart. (Stops the normal blinking, and throat shots just as the shutter opens). Optical Zoom (x3) is really good. Macro is excellent if required. (I pictured some close ups of 'bugs' just to see the effect). The scroll wheel to take differing shots is unique - no need to open up the menu options and mess about). 2.5 inch LCD screen is a must. I'm not a semi-pro photographer so ISO speeds and white images mean nothing to me....but if you want a good priced camera, Sony at that, Carl Zeiss lens (unbeatable allegedly) and quick processing speed (so your subjects aren't hanging around for that second shot) then this is the camera for you.

Bought this camera around a month ago, and I couldn't fault it in any way. Slim, stylish, superb pictures, really easy to use...I could go on! A word of advise though, Red Eye Reduction is off as a default so make sure you check the manual and turn it on as my first hundred pics or so were spoiled by the most outrageously red eyes! Unlike the other reviewer I had no problem with my battery pack, has lasted weeks despite frequent use and has not needed recharging yet (which is extremely straightforward anyway). You'll also must buy a new memory card but that's the same for all cameras. Just buy it you wont regret it!
Stress Free (or is it ?).......2007-02-07
I bought this camera (ok, well maybe my parents did) last Tuesday, so its been a week since i've had it. It captures superb qualtiy photos, and has extra zoom in and control on the actual photos. In Movie mode, the camera works perfectly, only making you nervous when you let a breath escape your mouth!
But the downfall to this stylish camera is the battery length, or maybe my battery is dodgy? Who knows? Since i bought it last week, i've had to endure battery run-downs in a matter of 48 hours, and have had to re-charge it about 5-6 times already, excluding the charge-up which is required when the camera was brand new. Maybe i'll have to have it checked out, but i'd recomend this to anyone who's into digital photography and just starting out.
It would have been given 5 stars, but due to the case of the battery, it's a 4.

What a great little camera. This is our second digital camera... our first was a Canon Powershot S45 which we have always been happy with... and will continue to be no doubt... but it's a little large compared to modern cameras, and we wanted something that would tuck away nicely in a pocket or handbag, but still deliver great quality... and this camera does it in spades!!
The best advice I can give anyone buying a digital camera is that the lens quality is the begin all and end all... without a decent lens, you can forget it. So that's why I went for the Sony... it has a Carl Zeiss lens... the pix we have taken so far are amazing, and we haven't even used the 6.0 megapixels setting too much yet!! (Mainly taking around 3.0mp so far.) We also bought an HP A618 photo-printer. This, combined with the Sony camera, is delivering us amazing printed pix... easily as good as 'lab' quality.
In conclusion... you will not be disappointed with this camera if you want compact size coupled with super quality.
