Little snapper.......2007-07-18
Have now had this for over 2 years, and have found it to be reliable and easy to use. However, the battery is abysmally short-lived!!!! You have been warned!
A little gem of a camera.......2007-07-09
This stylish camera is a joy for the amateur snapper. The picture card supplied is a pathetic 64mb, and there is no case. So I bought a 512mb xD-picture card and a soft case to carry everything in (WARNING - you can't take movies with some xd cards). Also a spare Hama battery which I have never had to use. Have just been to the Hampton Court Flower Show where I took over 200 pictures (automatic setting, maximum resolution). At home I put the camera in its nifty little cradle, and downloaded the pictures. It then took a couple of hours to recharge the battery. I ended up with some superb pictures, crystal clear, stunning colours. Some were taken in the marquees and as it was a sunny day, the flash was redundant, however I did use the flash occasionally. I also had it on Chrome to give extra vibrancy to the colours.
A drawback is the LCD screen which is difficult to see in bright sunlight, even on maximum setting.
This camera has many features and can be set on manual for you to control everything about the shot. But why bother, when it produces such jewel-like pictures on auto?
A couple of hints. Buy a tripod. You can get one for less than £15. Don't drop the camera, it is a delicate precision mechanism. Read the manual. It goes into detail about all the manual settings, taking movies etc. Don't bother with the software supplied unless you must. Use some good quality photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop. This will allow you much more control over cropping and you will definitely need to adjust the brightness and contrast, especially on some indoor pictures. Above all, take loads of pictures and be VERY selective about which ones you keep. Back up all your pictures on to a CD. Happy snapping!
fuji finepix f610 digital camera.......2007-06-24
I got this camera at a bargain price and it has been the best compact digital camera I have owned. I have even had some pictures exhibited that I took with this little gem... It has many settings to play around with but just stick it on auto and point and click and you're laughing. The battery doesnt last too long if you use the lcd display screen and not the view finder, so a spare battery is a useful addition. The size and weight of the camera body were perfect for me, it's small but solid and I wasnt worried that it would break in my bag or anything. Having said that I have just dropped my f610 on the floor (my own fault) and now need to buy a new one... i'll be buying the same camera again though!

Cannot stress how good this camera is...I've had it for 2 years now and it's still going strong! Absolutely razor-sharp pictures. If there's anything to criticise about it, it's the battery (life). So get yourself a spare battery. I'll still give it 5 stars though because the competition aren't any better in that respect either! So other than that, fantastic fantastic camera!
High pixels v. long telephoto?.......2005-04-26
I was torn between getting a camera with 6X or 10X zoom, or one with a very high number of pixels which would allow me to do my 'zooming' on my computer. I had previously had a Fuji 1.5 Mp and was very impressed with the quality of picture. I decided on the Fuji Finepix F610 because of the 6Mp extrapolating up to 12Mp. I have not been disappointed. The quality is fantastic, you can use it with all the 'auto' settings and just point and press, or when you feel more confident, you can experiment with many settings. It feels solid and comfortable in your hand, and unlike cameras with long zooms, it is flat enough to carry in your pocket. A camera of quality.

going downhill.......2007-05-01
I bought several Caselogic 144 Wallets in 2005 and was impressed. In 2006 I needed a larger capacity and bought this one, despite reading the previous poor review. I have the same reactions: definitely flimsier construction, poorer both in design (no removable sleeve) and quality. I kept it because (at the time) I couldn't find another maker offering a good quality 280 capacity but get slightly irritated every time I use it. Why do manufacturers do this?!

I've bought three of these cases now and am extremely happy with the first two and would agree with most of the other comments on their use, quality etc. Unfortunately the most recent I bought a couple of months is ago is significantly poorer in construction and materials to the two earlier purchases. It looks like the manufacturer has downgraded the materials used and to a certain extent the design i.e. the older version had a removable sleave holding 16 cd's, this is fixed in the new design. The new design also seems a lot more flimsy and in fact some of the stitching around the zip is coming away after only a couple of months of not particulary heavy use. I have given this 3 stars based on the original design and for the Amazon price and service but think I'll be looking for a better quality product next time.

This is a good product, but it's a shame that you don't seem to be able to buy additional pages. With the supplied pages all full with CD's and covers, the case seems able to accomodate more. I'd like to be able to purchase a few additional pages to be able to cram as much in here as possible. Still, you can't have everything I suppose...

I recieved this today about 36 hours after ordering it from Amazon and was very pleased with the quality, finish, compactness and general value for money the CD wallet represented.
I have used it for filing a lot of Playstation and PS2 game discs with accompanying literature. The wallet is easy to fill and the cd pouches are tight enough to hold cds in well but also roomy enough to fit the sometimes thick literature accompanyments in. Even with the PS2 literature which is the size of the inserts you get with DVDs it was easy to file by having the literature overlapping the cd above.
The wallet is completely closed in by a robust zip and there appears to be no way for dust to impregnate the wallet other than by getting in between the teeth of the zip.
When purchasing this, I did consider alternatives, including CD holders that store all the CDs standing up, however in the end I decided that this offered the best space saving capability. The product is pretty much the same size as a full lever arch file when half full and probably just 1&1/2 times the thickness of a lever arch file when absolutely full.
The canvas structure of the wallet is strong and the parts which take the strain, such as the area around the handle appear to be made of a material similar to that of seatbelts. Inside the wallet, there is a locking system which locks all the individual sleeves into place. The sleeves can be removed and reorganised easily and quickly.
Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this product and at a price which is only a fraction more than the CD wallet with a lower capacity made by the same manufacturer, I recommend it highly if you have CDs, DVDs or games discs requiring a new home.
DVD & CD HEAVEN!!!!!!!!.......2006-07-31
This DVD/CD Wallet is excellent for carrying my favourite films and music in for holidays!
I ordered this wallet for my last holiday and it arrived a couple of days before I left! Just in time!
I was never bored because I had enough DVD's & CD's to choose from all in one portable wallet!
Yes it was heavy when practically full, but well worth the purchase!
Me and my friend had hours of entertainment just waiting for us in my new wallet!
There is some kind of lock at the top of the spine inside the wallet, but I don't want to tamper with it because I really don't know how it works! I certainly don't want to make any mistakes I won't know how to undo!
So, this wallet is very well worth purchasing if you want to either take your DVD's/CD's on holiday with you, or if you just want to store them inside, with or without the CD covers!
I haven't bothered with putting any CD covers in, I just put the disks in!
