Only worth the penny charged.......2007-12-13
A gold scart lead for one penny? You must be joking of course. But, going by the tech specs and the only review I thought it might be worth a try. After all, they can't advertise one product and sell another can they? Oh yes they can. I ordered from CDL Micro- perfectly efficient service as far as delivery was concerned, but the lead is worthy only of a Christmas cracker, being of poor quality and weighing in at a flimsy 150g rather than the stated 295g. There is no brand name or any other identifying mark (who would want to admit to making this?) and if I were Hama, I'd be concerned that their reputation is being rubbished. The annoying thing is, the company profits by bumping up the postage (more than double the stated rate) so there's little point sending back for a refund! It's a bit of a scam as regards 'trade descriptions' but I guess I got what I paid for. But then, if I'd known, I'd not have ordered it in the first place....hmmmm.
Worth the money.......2006-11-21
Simply put it works, and works very well. You notice the cable is different right out of the box; it feels mich heavier than normal scart cables (even ones 5x as long). It is also well crafted, and slots in nicely to all scart sockets (had trouble with some others before). The picture quality (if using freeview) is noticeably improved, clear, and the cable does not act as an aerial itself. this means that you don't have any random ghosting effects that cheaper cables have caused in the past.
It's a good, quality cable that I recommend buying because I have not had trouble with it.

This reader could use a better manual.......2005-12-05
I bought this card reader because I have a spare 1Gb xD-Memory card that I don't need for my camera, except on long vacations. Nowhere on the packaging is there any suggestion that the reader is only compatible with cards up to 512Mb. The included manual suggests that complete specifications can be found on the included CD, but the CD only contains an electronic copy of the same manual.
If you have spare low capacity cards lying around, this might be for you, but it's not for everyone.
Good piece of kit.......2005-09-20
I have a Fuji camera so I had a couple of Xd cards already.
This is a decent piece of kit for the money. Buttons are a bit fiddly but once you figure out how to use them it's fine. Can't really see how anyone can complain about this item, it's basic but great for what it cost. For the guy who can't figure out how to change CDs, it's an MP3 player, it doesn't use CDs.
Cacker than a cack thing.......2005-04-15
What can go wrong with an MP3 player.
First try and find it on Fuji support nope not there, well not a search engine item, either plenty sites to buy from but no sites to tell you how it works.
Ok so nitty gritty.
you get a xd card reader which also plays MP3 without an XDcard ,
You also get headphones, Mine were really tinny and crackly which I replaced with Sony polyphonic.
and you get Roxio Easy Media Creator v 6 with Audio central.
and a driver install disk.
and a plastic belt clip.
On the driver disk are install notes and a description of the buttons, thats it, nothing else.
no notes telling you how to get audio from cd to MP3 or how to store them on the card so they play. or which buttons to press to change cd,s and I,m not even sure you can do that.
I finally worked the out basics from Roxio notes, also not easy.
I bought mine for use in the gym but coupled with the cost for the player, xd card and serious hassle to get the thing to work I would have scored it less than 1 if I could.
You can buy a decent 512mb with a display and instructions for less money, you can also buy a multi card reader if you just want data transfer, leave the Fuji piece of junk in the store.
I used to think Fuji products were reasonable, after this??
Fuji XD Card Reader and MP3 Player.......2005-04-03
A must have for any Fuji Finepix camera owner. An MP3 player giving very reasonable reproduction, no LCD screen - but this keeps the size small, and only limited control functions - but all functions accessable via direct keys, no menu scrolling.
As the price of memory drops you can just get extra cards - and if you have a Fuji camera and go on a trip you can fill all your cards with MP3's and replace them with photo's as you tire of listening to them.
It also plays louder than many other types of player, so it works well plugged into a car stereo, or into an amplifier for musicians wanting compact storage for backing tracks.
If you have the Finepix camera software the MP3 function is integrated and you can use it to browse MP3 files.
If it breaks I'd buy another one.
great player, poor headphones.......2005-02-26
This was a good buy for the $ since my camera also uses the XD card. On that note, I'd only recommend this if you have another device that uses the xD card as it would have been too costly otherwise. As far as I can tell the player is great but on the other hand I would seriously recommend replacing the earbuds. I'm waiting on my new buds to arrive (shure e2c) but I concluded that the device can sound great since as it did with my studio headphones. Unfortunately, however those were too draining on the battery and my player won't be complete until my new earbuds arrive.
