Archos Mini Cam - AV500.......2006-05-01
The Camera is connected to my AV500 - the simplicity of the connection was impressive, plug it in to the two plugs and teh camcorder icon pops up on the screen and your are ready to record. I bought the cam for use when off road motorcycling and attatched it to the underside of the helmet peek and carried the Archos in a backpak, the cable being just long enough to allow freedom of movement with being vunerable to foliage. The "remote" which houses the microphone can be clipped to the backpak harness making for ease of use. On teh subject of the microphone the sound was generally good with the exception of higher speeds where the wind got the better of it.
Quality - excellent in most conditions, sometimes the footage resembled that of WW1 soldiers, everyone moving around a bit to fast! - but generally all was ok. The standard battery gave approx 3 hours of "film" - pretty much ok.
My only gripe was the "remote" which is supposed to allow the cam to be turned on/off - I didnt get on well with this and found it easier to turn the cam on and leave it running. I will reserve total judgement on the "remote" issue when I have had more time to experiment.
If you want a cam for extreme and simple use, this has to be it, it films ok, the battery lasts ok and it doesn't weigh a ton - a major factor, oh, and its simple to work!

My personal opinion is this: build quality is good, picture quality isnothing special, as good as movie mode on my digital still camera but no better. Focus and iris are auto and work well. Audio quality is just ok, again nothing special.
I want to use this in low light situations but picture quality at low light is very poor, similar to a mobile phone video, very grainy.
I think it would keep extreme sports users happy as ity is light and portable with only 1 wire and no battery packs to carry.

Great buy, Definitely great value for money........2008-01-10
Received these today and used them already. I am now surprised at the bad reviews of the black version of these headphones. People who have bought these have given the thumbs up on here and I agree. Very comfortable, great sound (and sound is very important to me), and they look good. I can maybe foresee losing the grey removable coverings on each headphone (use the size that fits best), but like everything if you look after it properly it should be ok. Most of all I am happy cos I bought these to use when I am in the gym. They are stay on and serve their purpose. Might have been useful to have a carry case but i guess that is a bit unfair to ask for only 10 quid.

I've used these ear plugs for over 1 year. The great thing is really, that the ear hook's material is relatively comfortable, the fit is good and the sound quality is great. Nothing to complain in this price range.
I used them riding a bike to work and in the office - no serious running, gym and so on. However, I had to throw them in my rucksack or other pockets every day. So after about year the protective discs before the speakers came loose and made them unusable.
Summary: very great value for money, especially for casual use. If you intend to make "heavy use" of them, better spend 5 quit extra on a more enhanced model.
earhook headphones.......2007-10-21
Been looking for headphones that I can use in the gym and running outdoors and these are excellent. I had previously bought some really modern ones like the sony mdr j10's and they just do not stay put, these philips ones are just the job and good quality sound.
