An excellent little camera.......2007-03-15
I got this camera back in 2004 and have only just parted with it. It cost £225 new and so I expected rather a lot from it - and a lot I got! 4mp now seems like rather a small amount of megapixels to have, but 3 years ago, and even up to a year ago, it was rather decent, the norm really. And those 4mp served me well! That camera saw me through most of University, and as you can imagine, it was used a lot! It captured everything from night-time clubbing shots to daytime beach scenes, and it served all purposes beautifully. Of course with only 4mp and a lack of optical zoom, it can't capture those far off shots, nor can you blow the pictures up to above around a4 size. However, if you are looking for an excellent quality camera, with amazing picture quality, then I DEFINITELY recommend this, 100%. It oozes quality and style and is absolutely tiny, making my friends who were owners of huge clunky cameras, very envious indeed! The absolute best feature has to be the macro function. It produces absolutely stunning results and I truly would recommend you make full use of this function!
All in all, for £110 you could buy a camera with more mp and a zoom. Don't write this little Canon off though, it offers so much more.

I love this camera and despite having it for a couple of years now it works as well as ever! I can take it in my pocket anywhere I go and don't have to worry about it getting stolen or being very visible as the size and weight are great. It also takes some great pictures and you can change the colour/style of photo to retro which is a browny colour which is great for scenic or atmospheric shots. Overall really pleased but the only grumble would be the size of the screen being pretty small.

I bought my boyfriend the Canon Ixus I Digital camera for Christmas and we have already taken it out to pubs, family occasions ad a football match! It is so compact that you can take it anywhere without worrying about the weight in your pocket - plus the bronze appearance makes it a really stylish, different camera! Delivery was quick and efficient too.
If you want small but efficient, without comprimising on looks, then this is the camera for you!
The best-looking camera...ever!.......2004-09-06
I had my eye on this little gem of a camera ever since the ads started appearing last year. Finally accumulating the funds needed to replace my 2MP Olympus, i was deliberating between the HP Photosmart R707, the Sony DSC F77 (both of which have rave reviews, especially the revolutionary HP) and this bronze Canon Ixus I, which by this time was a little worn on the shelf. Initially HP had the winning vote, not only because it beat the others by a mile with 5.1MP (instead of 4) and both optical and digital zoom (the Canon, alas, only has digital which is, quite frankly, useless) but also because it was ridiculously cheap for a 5.1MP camera, gleaning it with a 'best-bargain' appeal. However, I popped into a shop last weekend, asked to see the Canon Ixus I, and the rest, as they say, is history.
I challenge anyone NOT to hold this tiny miracle of technology in their hand and fall in love immediately. Frankly, I think it is the most beautiful camera ever constructed, and I am not exaggerating=) The HP might have been the sensible choice, but the Canon is a once-in-a-lifetime bout of passion - a camera which not is not merely a camera but something so special it worms it way into your affections (Ipod Mini-lovers, you know this feeling=) ) Besides the sheer winsomeness of its style, the beauty of Ixus I's construction extends to its extreme user-friendliness (taking pictures is now near foolproof) and the quality of its pictures. My boyfriend has the beautiful Sony Cybershot DSC-T1 with 5MP and I believe the quality of my little Ixus matches, if not beats, his. (The problem with such high quality cameras like his is that their sensitivity dooms anyone with weak wrists - or a few pints inside them- to a fate of fuzzy pics) The Canon is smaller, more compact, and hardier. And i really believe its quality will stand the test of time as a true classic.

This camera is fantastic! The photographs are crisp and clear, the camera is small enough to take with you anywhere - however that certainly doesn't mean a loss of quality. I was pleasently suprised with the photographs from this camera.. I have had bad experience with digital cameras in the past and had resorted back to my trusty SLR and my Canon ixus APS camera which had never failed me. When I saw this camera being reviewed on a television program, I just had to have it!
You will not be dissapointed with this camera. The price is right, the quality is right and the size is right...... so you can't really go wrong!
The bronze colour is beautiful.... but there is also Black, silver and white to choose from! Enjoy your camera!

I bought the travel kit from a company in Germany and I'm really pleased that Amazon how have it. This kit is the bargain of the century. The leather soft case is perfect,the hardcase is really good, and anti scratch sceen great, and for such a great price. Like the player itself the travel kit also shows what a rip off Apple products/accessories are.
