Not working .......2007-12-29
I bought this speaker in September after hearing all the great reviews on the sound quality. The performance was pretty good for the price - although not as loud as I would have preferred to play music. After only 3 months one speaker has stopped working and the sound is now mono and very faint making it more or less useless. I have tried contacting Avante Garde who are the supplier by e-mail but have not had a reply. There is no contact number or any servicing info on the manufacturer with the speaker when it arrives. Looks like i'm going to have to send lengthy e-mails to Amazon for some sort of compensation now.

I've had these speakers for 10 months now and although I've no experience of any other speakers for my Samsung MP3 these speakers more than meet my requirements. I use them when I stay in hotels and in the bathroom and for bbqs. All sorts of music is played on them and the bass for such a small set is marvellous. I use rechargable batteries and they seem to last a long time.
Unreliable.......2007-11-19
These were excellent for a few months of occasional use but now cut out when playing at any decent volume regardless of how bassy the music is. This is intensely annoying and makes them pretty much unusable.
This seems to be a fairly frequent problem so I would seriously recommend considering rival products before committing to these.
Some kind of protective casing over the speakers would be good too. Having them exposed makes me pretty anxious and means they probably wouldn't be much good for any rough travelling.
Believe the hype for the sound quality but also believe that they can be faulty...

You want sound, spend your cash on this little beauty.
The ugly duckling of portable speakers rules the roost.

I bought this speaker and was very impressed. One journey put an end to that though, when I arrived on holiday the sound was distorted at the upper end of the volume.
