DOES Work with 60GB...Sort Of..........2007-12-09

For all of you folks who purchased this thing only to find your 60GB player is WAY too fat to fit in it...fret not! See, I'm a VERY stubborn person and did a little digging until I got the answer I was looking for. See, if you pull at the top of your dock just a weeee bit (I'm serious, opening a pickle jar is probably harder), then the top white piece comes right off - revealing underneath the dock for the 60GB model! I'm happy to post pictures for any doubters. It's grey instead of white and fits the 60GB quite snugly. I was in a jam because I got a 60GB from Craigslist and it didn't come with any accessories, which didn't bother me because I already got ALL the accessories when I purchased a 30GB unit...well wasn't I the fool when it arrived! So yes - this DOES indeed work with the 60GB unit but you just have to disconnect the top first. If you have a 30GB too, not to worry - the unit is intentionally made this way (apparently) as it's modular and you can pop the top right back on with a wee bit of thumb pressure. It's not a perfect solution, mind you, but it's better than paying MORE to get a second dock you don't need. That said, get the USB plug instead of the dock and save yourself all the trouble if you wish...AND you'll get to plug that into a generic USB wall adapter and have an instant rapid charge!

Anyway - I give this little doobie 5 stars now that I know its secret. It connects EITHER the 30GB or 60GB depending on whether the top is connected or not.

Pointless Accessory.......2007-09-08

My docking station came as a freebee if I sent off for it when buying my MP3 player from Amazon and, all credit to Creative, they were prompt in sending it to me. The docking station adds nothing that the little gizmo that you plug into the bottom of your Creative MP3 player allows anyway. Certainly, your pleyer looks very pretty in the docking station but it adds absolutely no facilities. Additionally, I keep my MP3 player in an excellent transparent protective skin and it will not fit into the docking station in this skin, so if I wanted to use the docking station I would have to remove it from its protective skin. The docking station may look fine but adds nothing.

This must indeed be the most useless accessory in the history of electronics. I bought this because I wanted to charge my Zen in the absence of a computer but (a) the docking station does NOT come with the 5V mains transformer you need for this and (b) the player itself already comes with a little thing that allows you to connect a transformer. So don't waste your good money on this!

i have to say i agree with the guy who said this is in the running for the most pointless accessory especially at that kind of price. however the madcatz ps3 system stacker is really bad too. does this really only come with a usb??? wow thats really bad. unlucky for all you all you guys my zen came with a mains charger!
