Compact system but my 3rd generation nano is too small to dock.......2008-01-08
For £18 I didn't know what to expect, but this 4w output unit is very compact and looks good. It can be used on batteries or AC with the enclosed power adaptor.
The sound from the radio is excellent and on radio the volume is more than adequate for it's output.
Within the contents, there are 3 inserts for attaching to unit depending on which Ipod version is required to be docked.
However, when I docked my 3rd generation Ipod Nano, as the Nano is so small it doesn't sit high enough for you to access the controls, particularly the play/pause which is almost impossible to access.
There is a lead supplied with the music system for other Ipods/MP3 players which plugs into the rear of the unit and into the headphone socket of the Ipod. The sound from the Ipod through the system is not as particularly loud, certainly nowhere near the max radio volume. The system probably wouldn't be useful for a party situation, but for my office, the sound is adequate, just.

Bought this for my three year old son. There's a reason its the price it is - sound is quite tinny, there is no integration with the ipod (for example you switch the stereo off, the ipod continues to play and has to be switched off seperately).
That said, I bought it for my 4 year old (he has an old ipod mini) and he loves it, thisnks he is the coolest guy in town.
I would recommend it, but dont expect miracles for under £20
