Great photos and easy to use.......2006-07-08

I was a little downheartened when given this camera for christmas as I'd had my eye on the Fuji F10 but I'm definately not dissapointed.

This camera is great! It is super easy to use and on the scene options has some fantastic guides for composition etc. The scene options also configure the camera perfectly for photos in different conditions sunny, dark, fireworks etc.

It also has 5x optical zoom which is a real bonus compared to the 3 you get on most cameras.

The Battery life is very good for AA's and yes I know your probably thinking you'd rather a rechargeable battery. But may I ask what you do if you forget to charge it? or your on holiday and left the charger at home? at least you can buy some AA's to keep you going.
This being said however, I would advise investing in some Uniross rechargeble AA's to keep down costs.

Great little camera.......2006-03-04

Having reluctantly swapped my trusty Minolta Dynax 505si (which took great photos) for the Nikon Coolpix L1 I'm totally thrilled with the results. The 38-290mm lens takes really sharp photos, and the various scene settings means you can still take creative photos if you take a little time to work out what the settings entail, e.g. waterfalls can be blurred by selecting one of the settings which gives a slow shutter speed. I thought I'd miss the manual settings like aperture, speed, etc. but I don't. It's so much lighter to carry around, and not having to use a viewfinder enables shots to be taken at interesting angles.
I love this camera. Anyone want to buy a Minolta SLR?!

First Impressions - AMAZING!.......2007-12-14

I just orderd these speakers as a present for christmas, they came today and i decided to give them a test before putting them away to be wrapped up.

Initally on opening i realised the satellite speakers are ALOT!! smaller than expected. This worried me as i thought there volume performance would not be great. I plugged them in and tested them out on my ipod, turned the sound up and played 'faithless - insomnia'.
To my delight they were loud enough to fill the room with excess, and i dont even think they were at full volume!! The sound quality was outstanding too, for any type of speakers, especially this small set!
After switching them off with a grin on mine and my girlfriends face, all she just said was 'it sounds like we were in a proper club'! haha, i cant wait to open them on xmas day and fine tune them!

As i only had 1min literally to play about with them im not sure how they will play my rock indie and drum&bass tracks.. but i am looking forward to it now!!

I am on a gap year going to uni next year and these will certainly do me justice at uni - a small, cheap, good quality set of speakers! I am fussy with all electronic things, i have to make sure everything i buy suits me otherwise it goes! Itll go well with my acer aspire 5920 laptop.
Just dont be put off by the size of the satellites!

Overall: Good quality sound, good looking, small with no clutter!, Good volume and dont be put off by the small satellites! There loud!

A Fine set of fashionable speakers.......2007-08-26

I wanted a stylish set of speakers that I could plug into both my laptop and my desktop PC, I wasn't looking for 5.1 surround or anything, so I chose the JBL Creature 2s on recommendation from a friend.

The sound quality is just fine, not exactly mind blowing, but it does the job and it does it well. A little fiddling is of course required and afterwards the sound quality is much better.

I'd recommend these speakers to anyone ONLY if they want a stylish speaker set. There are speakers out there for much less money that sound just as good.

the sound of music.......2007-05-18

i plugged these straight into my pc after buying them and after blasting out some music and fiddling around with the bass and treble a bit to much, i thought that the speakers were reasonable but not sensational, certainly not worth what i paid for them on here
HOWEVER...
after my initial disappointment i used my initiative and found the buttons to turn the sound up or down. once they were at their max, the sound was excellant crystal clear and no distortion whatsoever.
of course once you have the added fact that they look simply beautiful, they are exquisite speakers to go with anything, their nice and compact, and of course perfect sound, they look especially nice next to an xbox 360 or the white samsung 23" tv.
