Fantastic machine.......2008-01-07
I bought this to replace an ageing printer, fax, and scanner and to free up some desk space. I've had it about a month now and have used all the functions and so far it has performed faultlessly. I am particularly impressed with the quality of the photo printing on glossy paper, it's quite fast, resonably quiet and I think the quality is outstanding. A great all round easy to use machine at a sensible price. (I've no idea what the Canon after sales service is like as I havent had any reason to contact them)

Felt the need to write a review for the first time as was very disappointed with the volume control. I have an Ipod Shuffle so need to boosted volume, but sometimes it can take nearly 5 mins to get the volume up to the right level using the speakers volume control. The controls are just too temperamental or not sensitive enough, particularly if you don't like to leave adapter plugs permenantly switched on at the wall as the volume re-sets to zero each time the power goes off. The quality of sound is excellent though.

Hiya
The speakers are really good.They have touch sensitive buttons (+ and -)for volume control which is really nifty.They also are smart and portable which is a plus.The only downside is the heavy adapter.But that is hardly something to scream about!The newer version is an extra £10 but if you have the money i'd go for it-it comes with a remote control unlike this one.I won't be upgrading though-my speakers are situated next to the bed- thus i do not need a remote!I'd look out for the cool metallic colours out now though!

This radio is amazing! It's super-simple to use, sounds fantastic and looks great. I am amazed at the other reviews saying they are disappointed with this product, I'd like to see you find a radio that sounds as good as this that isn't made of tacky plastic or fake wood. The reviewer who stated that this radio lacks an aerial socket did not investigate very well. In common with many DAB radios from Roberts and others, the antenna is designed to be removed (use an 11mm spanner) and you will find when removed that a standard F-type socket is revealed to which it is easy to connect any external antenna.
Oh, and the radio is very sensitive, more so than many DAB radios, and sounds absolutely glorious.

I returned 3 of these radios because the cardboard packaging cut into the cheap leathercloth on the handles showing the cream layer underneath. My husband bought it thinking it was leather like his non DAB Roberts. For £150 it SHOULD be leather or at the very least a good quality imitation. I'm on Amazon looking for a good quality substitute
Roberts RD50 Vintage Stlye Radio.......2007-03-17
Do not buy this product. Remembering the quality of Roberts radios from the 1960s and 70s I had expected robust build quality, ease of use, good reception and good quality sound output. I was severely disappointed: One doesn't even get a socket for an RF aerial, which for the price is laughable. This product is a triumph for appearance over function. Definitely one to avoid.
