THIS WAS MY SECOND FRAME THE FIRST FRAME HAD TO BE REPLACED OWING TO THE COMPACT FLASH CARD SLOT BEING BROKEN THE SECOND ONE ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO TRANSFER PHOTOS FROM COMPUTER VIA THE USB WITHOUT CRASHING THE COMPUTER THIS SEEMS TO BE A GENERAL PROBLEM WITH QUITE A FEW DIGI FRAMES SO BEWARE I AM NOW IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING A REFUND

I am delighted with this frame after spending hours reviewing various options on Amazon. I made up my mind based on value for money, pixel count and size of frame. I am a technophobe and when it arrived I had a problem with transferring images from my USB. I contacted Sugar by email over New Year and got a reply as soon as their office opened, with easy step by step instructions to use the free SD card. To cut a long story short, my USB was faulty, and the SD card worked a treat. I contacted them again with a minor query and received an immediate reply at 9pm, which is going way beyond the call of duty. The email replies were personal, and the writer ensured his instructions were suitable for a non-techie. The frame is very good looking, and I just wish I had bought one ages ago!
Not fit for purpose.......2007-12-14
The device delivered to me doesn't allow transfer over USB. I mailed support who said it was the cable or the card. I changed both and no different. They no other support so obviously don't want my business. Additionally there are severe limitations and brokenness e.g. some JPG files don't load but they don't tell those they don't support. If you play sound files whilst the slide show is on, the transitions run very slowly and erractically. It is Not Fit For Purpose.

This is my first venture into the world of DPF, so I looked around wuite a bit and having scoured official and people's reviews I also decided to take a gamble on a make I'd never heard of and I'm really pleased with the result.
Pros- great resolution, easy to load, frame looks great(nothing sticks out from the sides) and it was easy to use in general
Cons - the remote controller is a nasty piece of plastic and sometimes you almost have to sit on top of the frame to get it to work. Minor point though really.
All said and done it was a great buy and I'd happily recommend it to anyone thinking of buying a DPF.

I wanted to buy a DPF for my dad birthday, so I spent a lot of time trying to find the best DPF for around £100-£150 max. In the end I chose the PF1 for the following reasons:
-Larger screen - better resolution
-you can load your pictures straight from the memory stick
My only worry was that I didnt know the brand, but I took the risk. My dad is thrilled! It turns out to be what I thought it would be and more! The picture quality is amazing, it was really easy to start it up, and looks great on the shelf!
I'd buy PF1 again, but this time for myself!

Brilliant but for one stupid flaw.......2007-12-31
This unit is great in almost all respects - it's compact, well featured, provides good sound quality, attractive and great value for money. The truely unbelievable thing about it is that the DAB antenna is just a two meter long wire "T" shape that's integrated into the unit. There is no co-axial socket to plug in a better aerial and the wire can't be replaced. That means you can only place this unit were this silly little aerial can pick up a signal, which you can guarntee is not where you want to put it.

We just wanted a DAB radio for the conservatory, so for the price this exceeded our expectations.
As well as excellent DAB and FM reception the ability to play WMA & MP3 CD's plus the ability to play a USB memory stick made this seem like a bargain.
OK, sound is not hi-fi (the base boost helps), but then its not hi-fi prices and would be fine in a kitchen etc.

This is a nice system, apart from one very bad 'undocumented feature'. If you play a CD where there are no gaps between tracks (e.g. a piece of classical music such as Strauss's Ein Heldenleben), the CD player pauses at each track number change and 'blanks' the sound for two or three seconds. I tried a number of CDs with continuous music on them and they all behaved the same. On any of the other CD players that I have access to the music played seamlessly, as indeed it should. I spoke to Philips about the problem and they said it was the way the CD player worked, that they had had lots of complaints about it (I bet!) and that they will be doing something about it - but they gave no timescale. Unless and until they fix this issue I would not recommend this system at all. I bought mine on a Sunday and took it back for a refund on Thursday. The retailer didn't bat an eyelid, which makes me suspect I wasn't the first disgruntled buyer of this item...
