Not having much luck.......2007-09-29
Original order on 17th sept. never arrived, Amazon sent out another which
came today but player will not turn on or charge up, its dead. Just about
to send it back, hopefully it'll be 3rd time lucky.

I have the 4GB version and there are so many great things about this player;
-It is really beautiful,stylish and extremely well built.
-Its speaker is of great quality.
-Its interface is simple yet of very good taste.
-It touchscreen works really well.
-It has incredible earphones, the best i've seen bundled with a player.
-It is reasonably priced
But it has one major flaw, that makes it practically unusable by me, it does not support on-the-fly playlist creation. The playlist creation via its software is also terrible and time consuming.
It is a real pain to navigate through 4 gigas of music just to find one song, then search again for the next one and so on.
I believe it would be so easy to remedy this problem by a firmware upgrade, but so far nothing has been done.
I really like this player, but I'll have to sell it. This playlist problem really ruins everything for me.

Unimpressed - Media Player Problems.......2007-09-07
I was excited when it arrived as it looks impressive however this mood quickly turned to dismay when I plugged it into the PC and was faced with Windows constantly trying to install the device with "MTP Driver" near the system clock. A search on the Internet revealed that I wasn't the only one to have this issue. Some people said that it only works with WMP 10 so I rolled back, installed a variety of fixes, changed the registry....all to no avail.
I called Samsung technical support and they were no use whatsoever.
So....yet again I return a Samsung MP3 player. Be warned.

I got a 1GB one of these when they first came out in december 06 and it cost around £100 which is pricey-especially considering they cost half that now. however i have used it everyday eversince and it still works perfectlly, my friends have dropped it and apart from a few small scratches its OK. the speaker is good quality and I absolutely love it. the only problem i have is that you have to go onto the computer to delete songs and i cant work out how to make playlists and there isnt a clock permanantly displayed. i am now looking for another mp3 player (NOT an ipod) with more memory so that i dont have to keep deleting old songs to put new ones on and may consiuder getting a 4GB version of my current one.
