Value for Money.......2007-11-19
Hey Folks
I have used this product for acout 2 months now and it is very good. I have been recommanded by my friend to buy this in small budget with the competition to Apple iPOD and I really find it good. I had bit of trouble as i wasn't able to put photos and video in with drag and drop technique but it can be done with software provided. It take long time for video uploading if the size is big but it does it prefactly and shows the report as well to make sure that it is correctly uploaded. Other than that it is just absolutely fantastic product from SanDisk. I really admire their skills to make the stuff that good in cheap price. 6GB Memory is vast enough to store photos, 2 full size and rest is for music of your choice. The quality is excellent with sound and video. The only downfall I would say is that it doesn't have the radio/FM facility, it would have been great tough .. but never mind.
I will recommand other to buy it instead of costly other products. It truly is value for money.
Nice little machine!.......2007-10-23
I bought this a couple of weeks ago because I was going travelling and so far so good. There are a few times where admittedly its turned itself off or frozen but nothing major really, it possibly was that I was changing tracks too fast. Sounds quality is excellent and its easy to install and upload songs onto. Just as good as the ipod but without the hassle of having to put ipod bought songs onto it. Looks cool too.
I would definitely recommend this to any mp3 seeker. However if like me you don't always have a laptop at hand to charge it then you will need to buy a wall charger separately but they are very cheap and light so its not a problem.
Not sure why people have had problems..........2007-10-17
I bought my player a couple of months ago and it's by the far the easiest MP3 i've ever used. The uploading system is brilliant, either media player 10 or drag and drop like any old USB stick.
You can also download the Sansa Updater from the Sandisk website which took me about a minute, although the firmware upgrade i got doesn't seem to have done much, but the player already had everything i needed anyway!
Only possible hiccup might be that there's no radio, but if i wanted one i'd have bought a radio...i like my own music.
Basically i wasn't disappointed, it looks good, it runs well, good battery and enough memory for me, if not, buy the 8GB!
Top Notch - Eat your heart out Nano........2007-09-23
I'd been on the search for a non-Apple player for some time. Having owned 2 flash drive players and found the navigation clunky and one Chinese Nano clone that had extremely buggy firmware and a pathetic battery life, I stumbled upon the Sansa.
First impressions - well built, nicely designed - aesthetically pleasing. The blue circle navigation is as good as the Nano click-wheel. Screen is a nice colour, nice looking icons and easy to navigate menu. Someone here complained that after a 'wild night out', theirs had a crack in the screen - well sorry, but that's your fault and no indication of poor build quality.
I did a bit of research before the player arrived at www.anythingbutipod.com that has a whole section dedicated to the Sansa e200 series. I suggest you go there and read up a bit.
When the player arrived - it worked right out the box, someone here gave it 1/5 because their's didn't - silly, they clearly had a faulty one. This happens.
Only real criticism was that I downloaded the Sandisk Sansa firmware update software - this ran fine, but when the player tried to update, something went wrong. However, as I'd already been researching the player and how to manually update the firmware, this took me less that 2 minutes to sort out. Tip here, manually update the firmware, don't use the update software.
You can add music to the player by either syncing it with Windows Media Player or using manual drag and drop. My preference is for drag and drop as this allows you far more control. As someone else indicated though, make sure the ID3 tags of the files are all correct - the player uses these in building Artist, Album and Genre lists. It does NOT construct lists based on how you structure your folders.
Ripping music with Windows Media Player 10/11 is easy - it creates generally the correct ID3 tags and album art. When you are ripping though, watch what WMP allocates to the 'artist' and 'album' - if these aren't all consistent - the player will reflect this.
Playback is great, sound is great, battery life is excellent. This beats the Nano hands down in functionality and price. I fully recommend.

Perfect for the bathroom.......2007-09-15
Excellent radio, very toughly built, clear sound quality, good volume. Heavy & quite big as radio's go but then well worth it for the rechargable battery & waterproofing. Battery lasts and lasts- Maybe not quite as long as stated, but more than you could use in a day at the very least. I use it in the bathroom and only need charge it every couple of weeks.
Great stylish design, simple to control.
Recommended for use all around the house & garden, but bit heavy to be carried any distance on a regular basis.
Sturdy Contender.......2007-07-23
Had Oasis since Xmas 2006 so got to know its strengths and weaknesses. This was my first DAB and it's really ignited my interest in radio listening. The sound quality on the Oasis is superb especially for the spoken word as is the sound volume and "reach". The controls are simple and elegant and it really is tough. The handle for instance is an integral part of the housing so no moving parts to bust. It is great that the batteries charge "in house" and it is very comfortable with a shower - which is good bec I often use it on an allotment (apparently they don't like to be submerged - though it was dropped in a pond without complaint).
The downsides are that it is pretty darn heavy and the battery lasts only 6-7 hours and takes a night to charge. Not one to take on a camping trip. A radio-alarm would be fab. There are only 5 presets - 7+ would be better (though it would clutter the panel). The RDS scroll is very slow - annoying to read - not sure if that is within control of Pure. The bugger flashes when charging, which is a pain at the bedside. The rubber flanges on the bottom have come off and required sticking down.
If you'd get use out of the weatherproofing it is a great buy and the sound quality is better than others I've heard in same price bracket. It's a cool and sturdy contender in the DAB market.
Great DAB radio, shame about the battery..........2006-09-23
Yes, this is a great DAB radio, the only thing that lets it down is the battery - we only ever get 5-6 hours from a charge and it's been like that from new.
Th Wonderful White Brick.......2006-09-03
An excellent dab radio with great sound and a sturdy quality feel, play it in the garden or bathroom, when battery runs low plug it in for a few hours ,then its ready to play again.
With so few quality programmes on TV, DAB radio is a fantastic alternative and the Oasis is first rate.
On the plus side..........2006-08-07
The limited number of four pre set buttons is not a major issue for I listen mostly to R4, R2 and Classic FM. Manual tuning is made easier because you can earmark your ten favourite stations; turning the tuning dial brings up the stations quickly by name. Just push the button and it selects the new channel in seconds.
The digital readout is a lot better at night if you set it with the backlight on permanently but it is frustrating by day.
The heavy/sturdy build is great when you come to push any buttons because it does not fall over.

Larger than you think!.......2007-12-19
I ordered one of these radios because I liked the design and the idea that it was shower proof and portable. Its a nice box but it is very big (as portables go) and quite heavy. Check the size and weight before you buy and dont be suprised like I was. All the radios in my house are Pure brand and they are good products and mostly good technical support is offered. Also worth considering is that this radio, when recharging has a bright green light around the circular on/off button central on the face of the radio. This flashes on and off very brightly and can be quite irritating at night if you use it in the bedroom. Apart from that its sturdy, reliable and the batteries last about 8 hours with solid use. Note that some radios should have a vent fitted (free of charge by Pure) as a safety feature. Check out their website for the announcement.
