All-In-One Internet Access and Wireless Sharing Solution
The WAG354G Gateway contains an ADSL modem to get you connected to the Internet and a built-in router to securely share that Internet connection with all the computers in the house, both wireless and wired. You can connect four computers directly to the Router by Ethernet cables, and daisy-chain out to more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need.
Or, use the WAG354G Gateway's built-in Wireless-G access point to connect your PC to the network without stringing any wires. That's where the WPC54G Wireless-G Notebook Adapter comes in. Just plug it into your notebook through a PC Card slot. Wireless networking doesn't get any easier.
Of course, you can connect more computers to the WAG354G Gateway and your high-speed Internet link -- just provide a wired or wireless network adapter for each one. And once your computers are connected to the WAG354G Gateway, they can communicate with each other too, sharing resources like printers and all kinds of files -- music, digital pictures, and documents.
To protect your data and privacy, all wireless communications can be protected by industrial-strength 128-bit WPA encryption, while the powerful SPI firewall helps keep Internet intruders out of your computers. Configuring the WAG354G Gateway is a snap with your web browser.
With the Wireless-G ADSL Gateway Kit for Notebooks, you're ready to start sharing printers, files, and your Internet connection, the easy way.
Customer Reviews:
5 star router, 2 star card, but 5 stars overall. Read on..........2006-10-13
The kit comprises a Linksys WAG354G wireless-g ADSL modem router and a Linksys WPC54G wi-fi laptop card. The kit was £80 in PC World (early October 2006) but £49.99 in Staples. I bought it in Staples.
Instructions for setting up the router are confusing. There are two ways of doing it: using the Wizard or via the Linksys website, but the instructions don't make that clear. Setup took 2 hours, should have taken 20 minutes. The Linksys website is excellent if you want to change router settings such as the SSID (SSID is your wireless network's name that comes up when you search for wireless networks - you may have seen names such as BTVoyager123. The default SSID is "Linksys" but change it for security reasons.)
The router is a diddy little thing - about 5 inches square and 1 inch thick with no antennae protruding. It can stand on its edge so takes up little space. It works beautifully. I thoroughly recommend it - 5 stars.
The Linksys WPC54G laptop card was easy to install. But it's a bit feeble. My wife's Dell Latitude D510 which has in-built wifi picks up 2 neighbours' wireless networks. The Linksys WPC54G laptop card in my Dell Inspiron 1150 doesn't pick up either of them. In the far corner of our bungalow, behind the sofa, the Linksys WPC54G laptop card loses the signal from our router - my wife's laptop picks it up with "Very Good" or "Excellent" signal strength! So 2 stars for the Linksys WPC54G laptop card.
However, I bought the kit KNOWING from other reviews that the Linksys WPC54G laptop card is weak. Why? Because the card is effectively free. The Linksys WAG354G ADSL wireless modem on its own is £50, so the kit throws in the laptop card free. So I decided to buy the kit, try the laptop card and buy a better card if the Linksys laptop card wasn't up to it. But since I only work when hiding behind the sofa when Dr Who is on the Linksys card will do. I can always move the router to somewhere more central in the house.
So, buy the kit for the excellent router and buy a better laptop card if you need to (and sell the Linksys laptop card on eBay).
excellent.......2006-10-12
i got this wireless kit for university as every building is being prepared with wireless also for the local pubs and so far this has not provided any problems and the wireless card has been amazing so far. outstanding kit for the price amazon etc sell this for.
Excellent router.......2006-08-07
Have had zero problems with this router. Wireless-G is rock solid, with WPA-PSK and MAC address filtering. Web interface and port forwarding setup are a breeze. Only gripe is a lack of power button and unit does get quite hot. Amazon are now shipping the v2 unit for anyone who is interested. Definitely a top recommended Wireless-G router until the N spec is finalised next year.

Verbatim 16x offer best value for money.......2008-01-08
I've used Verbatim 16x DVD+R for the past 6 months. In over 150 burns i've had one or two failures, otherwise these have performed perfectly in my Lite-on drive. I would recommend these to anyone especially when they are on offer for £7 for 50 ...
About as good as it gets.......2007-08-17
I mirror the previous reviewers comments. I have used Verbatim CDRs and later DVD+Rs for several years and haven't had a single coaster or read failure. I would recommend them at the price as general archive and storage; I don't think you'll find anything quite as tried and trusted on the market in this price range.
As for Pixmania, well that's not Verbatim's fault is it?
.
These do work well.......2007-07-25
This is the first review I have written for a product, but I really don't want these DVDs to have a one-star rating they do not deserve. Ian F Oddy's review is absolutely irrelevant. From the sound of it, he dealt with Pixmania, not Amazon direct, therefore the comments about the state of delivery should be under Pixmania's comments, not the product review.
As for the product, Verbatim have been known to be very reliable disc makers, and I have not had any problems with these DVDs. As for the casing that was mentioned in the other review as failing, for me it was intact and worked much better than the old style.
Anyone else who likes the product, please review to get the rating up please.
Nice Presentation, Shame about the service........2007-06-06
After viewing the write up about these discs i thought it is just what i wanted to go with my new dvd recorder. I waited a week and paid £5.00 P&P but when they came they were packed in a box i could have got 4 or 5 in with no packing material hence they had bounced about and broke all the lugs holding the case together. Amazon have passed responsibility and blame straight back to Pixmania saying they would conduct an enquiry of their own but any findings would remain private.
