SpeedBooster....yeh right!.......2006-08-02

I bought this notebook adapter as a replacement to my old Wireless-B Netgear one. I also chose to update my router from Wireless B to the G Linksys model which corresponds to this notebook. After setting the router up, I found that my card was not registering the router. As the router was advertised to have excellent reception up to 200 yards I assumed that, seeing as my laptop was not as far away as that, it would pick up the router. Numerous attempts later still no wireless connection. I moved my laptop down to the room containing the router, and yes the card picked up the connection at 100% signal. However, the second I stepped outside the door it shot down to 4%, and then lost the connection approximately 5 steps later. Avoid this at all cost, there is no point in buying a wireless card that only allows you to access the Internet when your in the same room as the router. Maybe if your house walls are made out of paper you could succeed where I have failed, however if you walls and ceilings are made out of stronger stuff, don't bother!
