Avoid these nasty wallets like the plague!.......2007-06-22
If you're just buying them to put a data CD in and stick it in a drawer and forget about it, then go ahead and buy them. If, however, you want them for professional purposes to give to people, steer clear. I'm in a band and bought these to put demo CDs in. I printed standard CD-sized inserts on photo paper, folded them, and had a bit of bother getting them in the wallets. It was a very tight fit, to say the least. But worse was to come: when I tried to slip the CDs in, lo and behold, half of the wallets split at the seams. I wasn't impressed and am now looking for the type I had before - clear and glossy with plenty of room to put CDs and inserts in with ease. I'll be damned if I can remember the make of them, though... aaargh!
No frills, but quite functional.......2007-05-04
If you need a review for plastic wallets, here it is (I must be bored). They are square wallets, of suitable size for DVDs or CDs (125x125mm, yes, I measured them), made of thin, flexible, but durable opaque, but not clear, plastic: quite possible polythene. In my experience they have not split on me, unless I have tried to fit more than three discs in one wallet (two fit in nicely). Although they are not fully clear, it is quite possible to read anything written on a disc contained with one without removing it. They are equipped with a fold-over, tuck-in tab (like an envelope) for added protection. Perfectly suited to light protection duties when space is limited and a more durable cover is too bulky, for example keeping them loose in a drawer. Not suitable on their own for postage, but could be used in conjunction with a small durable box or a jiffy bag with stiff cardboard.
