A good router but not for beginners.......2007-12-19
The router is supplied by Pixmania and mine was a French version. All the documentation was in English and an adaptor was supplied for the european plug which works fine although a crosshead srewdriver was needed to attach it correctly as the plug screws in and locks itself - a safety measure I beleive! In addittion the CD is buggy and not very user friendly, and the web based router interface was in French, however a simple firmware update from the English version on the D-Link website and it now works exceptionally well. Especially with VOIP for which had experienced problems in the past. Overall good value for those with the expertise to use it and who want more advanced features like Qos. If the CD had worked and the the router had been set to English I would have given it five stars.

The supplied installation CD would not get past the "Saving settings" without crashing and leaving the "Please tell Microsoft of this problem" message. This happened on both my computers, one XP home, the other XP professional, indicating a software, or CD hardware problem. I had to interrogate the router directly, typing 192.168.0.1 into the browser, and cloning the mac code from there. After doing this, which shouldn't have been necessary, the router worked perfectly. Worth the money if that's what you need, but needs above average interest in computers to make it work.
