Nothing Bad, Nothing Great.......2008-01-05
This was more of an experimental buy for me. Cheap headphones that have great sound quality? Not quite so; they have rather weak bass, but the mids and highs sound acceptable. The cups are made of cheap leatherette, but are very comfortable nonetheless. All was well until I noticed that after a few months I started getting a weird distorting type of sound (no matter what the music or volume). I could send them in for warranty, but I'd guess the cost of shipping two-ways would outweigh the benefit. If you need a quick choice for inexpensive headphones these are all-around adequate, but you can do better for a bit more money.
HD201.... The facts....!.......2008-01-01
FACT - These headphones are a BARGAIN price. Even if you do buy a set and decide you dont like them, hell, it's only pretty much a tenner....
FACT - These headphones are QUIET. I have to pretty much double the volume of anything I plug them into compared to my other 'phones... BUT... they are selaed, closed back headphones so DO cut out background noise at lower volumes....
FACT - The sound quality is VERY GOOD. If you want to get near audiophile-quality from your personal music player or home stereo then these 'phones will definately do them justice.
FACT - There is NO point buying £150+ true audiophile headphones unless you have a pretty decent 24bit hifi system / headphone amplifier to drive them... if you just have some £150 stereo then these will more than suffice.
FACT - These headphones LACK POUNDING BASS. If you want ear-shaking bass from your tunes perhaps these 'phones arent for you... BUT... some may argue poudning bass would just mask the true quality of the music coming out of these headphones so is better without
Buy this!.......2007-09-13
I am stunned by the poor reviews of this product and even more stunned by the quality of the headphones. I have played every type of music, through my pc, listening with these and I can't find a fault in sound quality. Really comfy too though it'll take awhile to get used to a headband. I bought these because I can't cope with in-ear phones after more than half and hour and I am planning to spend along time listening to stuff over the next few weeks.
Spend a little more.......2007-08-10
If you buy these headphones because the name "Sennheiser" makes you think of German quality, then you'll be disappointed.
They distort at relatively quiet volumes and the bass isn't that great.
If you want a comfortable, low cost pair of headphones that won't fall apart after a week, and you're only going to listen to speech radio or something similar, then these will do but you'll probably still find better value elsewhere. They're comfortable and well-built but spending a little extra will get you a better listening experience.
Sennheiser at what price ? c'ant be true........2007-06-27
I paid in excess of £50 at least 15 years ago for my origonal Sennhieser headphones.I was looking at the Sennheiser PXC250 Headphones with the noise cancelling facility £48 - £100 depending on where you buy them, then stumbled upon a review of the HD 201's.£7.99 blimey the postage cost was
£4.48.After reading the positive reviews I ordered them and have to say that I am not dissapointed at all.A bit cheap looking, very comfortable.
Using them with my Sony walkman CD PLAYER I had to up the volume a fair bit but the sound is very mellow no distirtion at all.Good stereo seperation, clear trebble,Bass could be better but very acceptable especialy at the price.Overall you really c'ant go wrong highly recomended.

midnight blues..........2008-01-20
bought for christmas, fine for a week, and then as previous reviews have stated "midnight wake-up call."this continued for two weeks,so i took it back for a refund.apart from this fault, nice sound and easy to use.
Great alarm - but has a mind of it's own!.......2008-01-15
This alarm looks great and sounds very good. Having had the same Sony Dream Machine FM alarm clock for 11 years, I decided to upgrade to DAB a few months ago. The problem is, it goes off randomly at midnight. There is no detectable pattern - it goes off whether you've used the sleep function, got one or three alarms set... the connection appears to be DAB. Sony 'customer care' at first denied that there was a fault - then advised me not to use the DAB and to only use the buzzer alarm (handy that). Don't buy it - especially if you work early mornings like me. You'll end up being very tired.
Had to return it - Alarm goes off at Midnight by its own!!.......2008-01-10
Bought a Sony XDRC705 Dab Clock Radio on Saturday 5/1/08. Got home and set up was a breeze. It looked great and as I work shifts the four alarms are ideal. Set one for weekends to make sure it worked and left it.
First night - fine, no problems and Sunday morning alarm went off at 7am. Great!
Second night (Sunday) - Alarm 2 set for 4.30 am Monday morning. (Alarm 1 left at weekend setting). Radio wakes me up at 12.00 midnight! Nothing set for that. Switch it off and try and get back to sleep.
Third night (Monday) - Cleared ALL alarm settings off just incase. Set one alarm for 4.30am Tuesday morning. Guess what! The damn thing goes off at modnight again.
Didnt get to the third night as I packed it back up and returned it for a full refund. Great looking product, easy to use, but avoid like the plague if you value your sleep!
Sony Clock Radio.......2008-01-09
I have also had a problem with this clock radio. It randomly goes off at midnight although it hasn't been set and doesn't show an alarm setting for this time. However great the product is in other respects this makes it unuseable. I will be sending it back
Midnight Alarm.......2008-01-08
Like several others here, mine too switches on at midnight every 2 - 3 nights, despite doing everything I can think of. I also found the dimmest setting still lit up the room at night. Its going back
