When I first bought an inkjet printer, I was horrified at the price of Epson cartridges, so bought dirt cheap ones from other online suppliers. To save the most money, I bought in bulk (5-6 at a time). Trouble was I didn't print enough to justify that so some cartridges went out of date. Using these is a false economy, as heads will clog more easily. I also had to run the cleaning utility much more frequently even when they were in-date.
I had seen Jet-Tec products in a few places, but it wasn't until I discovered them at a photographic trade show (Focus on Imaging) a couple of years ago, that I looked at them seriously. I couldn't buy from their stand, so set about finding them.
I'm glad I did; they're more expensive than the cheapo bulk-buy cartridges, but cheap enough to buy individually, and you get a nice plastic tab to pull off, less fiddly than the usual foil seal. The quality of the ink is good - good enough, it would appear for a large, well-known High Street camera retailer (whose name begins with 'J') to sell them, re-packaged as an own-brand product at a higher price than Amazon. In short, I haven't looked back since, and whilst I can get them I never will.
