Going Digital.......2007-11-28

The HDD DVD recorder seems excellent value for money and does the job perfectly. I don't think you can record and watch a DVD or recording at the same time (other than the timeshift pause live tv function), but I might not have worked that part out yet. The instructions are pretty complicated!

My only concern with this product is it's lack of built in digital decoder, so to record digital I have to use my old digital decoder. My TV has a built in decoder but I don't think I can use that to record, so I have to have an additional decoder......I'm not quite sure what the solution is when the terrestrial signal gets switched off as it is a faff to make sure that the digi box is on the right channel for recording.

So although I'd recommend the product I think that next time I'll definitely get a built in decoder as it would be tens times easier that way. Spend the extra money if you can afford it....
