Panasonic 8223 Triple has classy piano black finish and a stylised handset shape - the 8223 makes a strong design statement. Illuminated LCD screen (note this is on all the time if on the charger, it goes off totally after 30 secs if off the charger) , illuminated flush keypad, huge 200 name and number directory (alphabetically searchable so no long scrolling to find your contacts) and 40-minute answering machine are also present. Call privacy is a new Panasonic feature, this means if you have two handsets then any other handset can join in the conversation without being asked (to prevent this you can turn privacy on). On the 8223 model the ringer and handset volumes are particulary loud so its good for anyone hard of hearing; theres even a flashing light to tell you someones calling if the ringer is turned down (or off). Control the KGTG8223's answerphone from both the base unit and the handset, and use the phones hands-free spearkerphone. Call barring is by handset and up to 6 numbers, if you put an area code or mobile prefix here then the handset will not be able to dial any numbers in that area or any mobile. NOTE 8220 is NOT wall mountable either base or slave charger - neither are wall mountable.

I have spent hours and hours looking at reviews for dozens of DECT sets. This one appeared to have all of the features without any annoying drawbacks.
Good points:-
Great looks
Good clear sound
Nice Colour display
Allows name up to 16 characters in phonebook with up to 200 entries.
Shows name and number on screen together
Easy copy of phonebook to other handsets
Incoming calls list can be deleted from one handset rather than deleting from each.
Up to 9 phonebook categories which can be named e.g. family, friends, work, doctors etc.
Very good standard answer machine message saves time recording your own.
Up to 40 minutes recording time
Calls can be recorded (albeit with 15 second beep)
Good range of standard ring tones, plus some Poly tunes
Good loud ringer.
SMS works well
Headset socket
More than 1 phone can join in a call. On my last phone, you had to set up a conference to get 2 on the same call. With this model its automatic, but you can make a call private to stop others joining in.
Good battery life so far...

Bad points or rather minor niggles
Wallpaper for display has a choice of 3 naff pictures. - why bother? more choice needed or infra red transfer.
Handsets can show a number but not a name so its not easy to see which phone belongs where.
Some menu options require a lot of key clicks.

In summary - Highly recommended- go and buy.
