Not "Cool", not "Hot"........2007-09-11
This movie is an embarrassing disaster. It is so bad that it beggars description. The first five minutes are a brilliant farce, but then when the guy is standing on top of the train and can't seem to aim a 12-gauge shotgun well enough to hit the broad side of a blimp... While our hero enjoys an excessively long sleighride for no rreason at all except to be shot at... Ugh. And it goes downhill rapidly from there.
Go re-watch Dhoom or Eklavya instead.
This film isn't cool - it's hot!.......2007-06-21
This is another triumph for the Yash Raj studio who are consistently dragging Bollywood into new directions and setting new standards.
This film has absolutely everything - wit, originality, A-list actors, great stunts, a plot that twists more than a walnut whip, a great ending, great songs, fabulous dancing, good comic turns, Hrithik - who must be the fittest man in Bollywood - rollerblading, dancing, martial arts, road chase stunts - what a star. Aishwarya has never looked better in leather gloves and Hrithik doesn't look as though he minds too much having to smooch with her.
Great location shoots too - from Namibia to Brazil. Bipasha Badu gets the opportunity to play a double role and produces two striking characters - and a model shoot - so she also provides good value for money.
Can't wait for Dhoom 3 and Abhishek's next case!! Bring it on!
I loved it!.......2007-04-30
This is a positive rating as I loved Dhoom 2. Then again I had no expectations as I'm not an Indian cinema buff so my opinions aren't the majorities.
The storyline is very different to the usual, a refreshing change. Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai sizzled on screen together.
Some negative things though just to be fair:
Although Bipasha Basu looked great her character didn't do much for the storyline and she could have easily been omitted. It also seemed that Abhishek Bachchan's character was sidelined by Hrithik Roshan's but there was some terrific banter between the two. There's also a few plot holes in the movie.
Overall the movie had a good basic storyline with numerous exotic locations (Brazil, South Africa etc), great stunts (new to Bollywood cinema) and plenty of eye candy. The dance chorography for Dhoom Again by Hrithik Roshan was amazing and Sanjay Gadhvi's directing set this movie apart from others. Well for me it did ;o)
Watch it for Hrithik.......2007-03-21
There's only one reason to watch this film and that's for Hrithik Roshan.
Luckily for him, the script writers made his character interesting and engaging, which is a shame for the other characters, as they were overshadowed by his performance. Abhishek Bachchan's role was fantastic in the first film, however, his role was limited in Dhoom 2, which was a shame as Abhishek sometimes comes out with great comedic performances, which Dhoom 2 didn't allow him to do. Bipasha's double role in the film was confusing and didn't add anything to it.
The songs are ok and there's the eye-candy, provided by Hrithik Rosan, Aishwarya Rai and Bipasha Basu, which will entice some people. Its a good film to watch if you have time to waste. But well done to Hrithik: he's quickly becoming one of the industry's best actors.
Waste of time.......2007-02-16
Having not watched the film on the big screen and hearing the big hype of Dhoom 2 ... this was a waste of a film. The fact that they put aishwarya prancing about in tight hugging clothes, bipasha in a bikini and finally hrithik dancing around toplesss was the only reason why they ever made money.
The script is soooooo bad and as a big fan of indian cinema .. this really drops the bar on a high budget bollywood action film.
Not worth the money!
