Wish they would re issue this film!!!.......2003-11-16
I love this film, I used to lend my copy out very carefully, but inevitably somebody liked it enough to keep it!!! This film is in the vein of MASH, but manages to put it's moral view over in an effective way that doesn't detract from the fun part of the story. It has a pop at medical science playing god rather than treating people or curing the sick. It suffered from lack of publicity on release but it's an enjoyable movie and well worth watching - if you can get a copy.
A witty and chaotic film with a superb all star cast........2002-06-01
'Article 99' is a witty and chaotic depiction of life in a military veterans hospital. Very much in the vain of 'M.A.S.H.' the film tells the how burnt out surgeon, Dr. Sturgess (Ray Liotta), and new boy on the block, Dr. Morgan (Kiefer Sutherland) fight against beaurocracy in a hospital for military veterans to treat their patients. Along with their co-conspirators we follow doctors and patients as they steal, lie, and scheme their way past red tape to help those in need. Full of one liners this film with it's fantastic cast (Forest Whittaker, Lea Thompson) is an enjoyable way to while away a couple of hours.
