I am a teenager and yet I admit to still cry when I read the story and Disney has murdered it! Oh it might be an excellent animated film but still a happy ending renders it useless. I used to have another animated version and it seemed to me just as good a film and it was true to the plot, could Disney not manage that? Why does everyone love this film, have none even read Hans Christian Anderson?

What a brilliant remastering by Disney! Superb quality and still capturing the wonderful magic of Ariel and friends under-da-sea!!

Lots of extra features to check out and enjoy the magic of when you were a child - great for your own kids now to enjoy!! A must have for all Disney collecters

Love this film!!!!

I loved it when I was younger, wore out my video & had to have it replaced, ha ha ha. I'm now 24 & wanted it for my 3 yr old daughter... I waited very impatiently for November when it was re released, I had it ordered ready so I received it straight away on the day it was released.

I am happy to say that my children love it!! yes, my 4 yr old son loves it too. A Brilliant film that will be loved by generations forever!

The Little Mermaid was the film to kick start a flagging company. It re-invented a genre and shed new and interesting light on all animated movies to follow.

To say this movie inspired is an understatment when you look at what has followed in the last decade: Aladdin, The lion King and the sublime Beauty and The Beast!

So why was The Little Mermaid so good? Well to start with you have some of the most memorable characters in Disney history. You'll never forget the panicked tones of Sebastion, the ever faithful crab, or the wicked and fantastically theatrical Sea Witch, Ursula! But most of all you have a brilliantly cheerful and endearing heroine to root for!

And then you have the wonderfully bubbly tunes that help move the story on without clogging the running time or getting in the way. You'll be humming "Under the Sea" for days afterwards.

This dvd does an excellent job of restoring the quality of the picture. It's colourful and bright. The sound is perfectly crisp. I dont usually mention the special features, but even they are worth a mention this time, with an interesting and informative look at the making of a classic and important film in Disney's history!

A film which has been loved for nearly twenty years, will now be loved by more generations to come. Buy and enjoy. This should be in any dvd collection!

I LOVE the "The Little Mermaid"! I have been a huge fan since I first saw it as a child, my brother bought me the video and after that I just fell in love with this film. I am not ashamed to say that at age 20 I still get the urge to watch it from time to time (kinda sad I know) I still have it on video but when I found out that it was being released on DVD I was seriously excited which my parents found a bit odd considering my age so I quickly covered up to say that I was excited for my nieces who I am unhappy to say were not too impressed by "The Little Mermaid" they apparently prefer "Ice Age" Crazy! All in all this film is GREAT! If you own it Well done! If you don't, then you need to get yourself a copy, quick! It has romance, suspense and humour and great songs like- "Under the sea"(love Sebastian the crab)and "Kiss the girl" (before Peter Andre killed that song!) - what else do you need?

Another great DVD to keep my daughter entertained! This is a really fun one, the best episode is definitely Disco, featuring PC Plum as a techno DJ!! Once you've watched all the episodes there is a musical statues game to play too.
