Clone Wars excellence.......2007-10-15
Awesome. Even better than Volume 1. Add this to your Star Wars collection without delay, and then look forward to next year's 3D CGI Clone Wars follow-up.
The Clone Wars rage on!.......2006-10-14
A second action packed DVD of the emmy-winning Star Wars: The Clone Wars is just what any Star Wars fan really wants.
In a new format compared to the first 20 volumes of the animated series, these chapters are now 15 minutes long, allowing for more character development and even more lightsaber-swinging Jedi action!
Beginning where chapter 20 left off, Ki-Adi Mundi, Shaak Ti and Aayla Secura are rescued from the metal clutches of General Grievous, with a little help from the ever helpful ARC trooper Fordo and the squad he led with Obi-Wan on Muunilist (see the first volume of Clone Wars).
Anakin and Obi-Wan fighting in the Outer rim seiges after their victory on Muunilist, the first chapter really sets up the brotherly relationship between the two characters that will be destroyed come the events of Episode III. Anakin and Obi-Wan then travel to the planet Nelvaan, where Anakin finds that he is the prophecised warrior of the indigenous Nelvaani and goes through trials which will foreshadow his downfall to the Dark side.
Meanwhile, on Coruscant, the Core planet of the Star Wars universe, the cunning capture of Chancellor Palpatine by General Grievous mentioned in the crawl at the start of Episode III takes place, with Mace Windu and Yoda marshalling the defense of the planet from the onslaught of Battle droids. Meanwhile, Jedi Master Sasee Tiin takes on the Sepratist fleet high above the planet.
Jedi Master Shaak Ti, with the help of 2 new jedi, the furry Foul Moudama and the Ithorian Roron Corrob, is charged with protecting the Chancellor, and must flee to shelter with the mechanical menace Grievous hot on their heels. After a lengthy battle on the Coruscant tram, Grievous catches up with the Jedi, slaying Foul and Roron, and leaving Shaak Ti bound in mechanical wiring, while he steals Palpatine away, leaving Mace Windu to find Shaak Ti.
After saving the Nelvaani from the droid threat, Anakin and Obi-Wan return to their Fleet to find a message from Coruscant: The Sepratists have invaded and Kidnapped the Chancellor! Anakin and Obi-Wan race to the planet, and the cartoon ends with the beginning of the fantastic space battle that starts Episode III.
The top notch animation never stops these cartoons from feeling like true Star Wars, and this DVD should take pride of place on any fans shelf.

If you remember episode 4 and 5 with as fond memories as me, then i am sure that you will enjoy this. For action characterisation and story this leaves the first '3' film episodes standing. By the creator of Samurai Jack this has style and brings back the true excitment of Star Wars. Both volumes are excellent and are enjoyed by both my children as well.
The proper stuff!!!.......2005-12-10
Forget The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones! This is proper old-style Star Wars without a Jar-Jar in sight! Great animation and brilliant storytelling make this top-knotch Lucasfilm fare, easily on a paralel with the original trilogy and a fitting prologue to the excellent Revenge of the Sith. If you don't buy this, don't call yourself a Star Wars fan. Truly proper stuff!!!
At last the Clone Wars Draw to a close.......2005-11-22
The 2nd volume of the Clone Wars sees a change to the format of the first. Now each episode is around 15mins long and have a little more diologue, never fear though all the fast paced action is still there.
The story again follows our favourite Jedi Knights as they fight the battles which made up the clone wars, climaxing in with Obi-Wan and Anakin recieving news of Palpatine's kidnap. Again the Animation is first rate and the story is enjoyable filling in the gap between Episodes II and III.
If possible even better than the first, a must have.
