Great show - but DVD image is disappointing.......2007-04-25
My son is crazy about LazyTown, and was pleased to get this DVD. I, however, felt the DVD was let down by its picture quality - the image is interlaced which may indicate a poor NTSC to PAL conversion.
Fine for your kids if they have a little 20" TV in their bedroom, but if you want to watch on a large LCD screen then you might be better importing the Region 1 disc.
My Tweenies love it!!.......2007-03-07
I've got 3 kids - 13, 11 and 3. They ALL love it!! My older 2 sing the songs all the time, and have taught the 3 yr old all the words! They even made up a dance to one of their favorite songs. My 13 yr old was quite relieved to find out that some of her school friends watch it too. This is good family fun for all the family. My husband and I quite like it too....
As cool as Iceland.......2006-12-30
LazyTown is a children's television program that originated in Iceland (where it is known as Latibær) that features a cast and crew from both the United States and Iceland. It was created by Magnús Scheving, an aerobics champion and CEO of LazyTown Entertainment, who also stars in the show. The show formerly aired on CBS on September 18, 2004 and ended on September 9, 2006.
The show has been given the German EMIL award by the TV magazine Spielfilm.
The series recently wrapped production on its second season, which debuted in the U.S. on Nick Jr. on September 25th, 2006.
The main character is Stephanie (Julianna Rose Mauriello), who arrives in town and urges her new friends Ziggy, Trixie, Stingy, and Pixel to go outside and be active, instead of staying inside and playing video games all day. Her uncle, the bumbling Mayor Milford Meanswell, enlists the help of Sportacus 10 (Magnús Scheving), a self-described "slightly-above-average hero". It is Sportacus' job to inspire the kids to play outside, and to help solve low-key emergencies that occur from time to time. However, all this does not sit well with Robbie Rotten (Stefán Karl Stefánsson), a lazy man who lives in an underground lair hidden just on the edge of town. Many of the episodes involve Robbie Rotten dressing up in a disguise and trying to ruin the kids' fun and/or make Sportacus leave town forever.

THE TALKING COMEDY ROBOT ON DVD AT LAST........2008-01-15
Metal Mickey was one of my favourite shows from childhood that is until the final series as the joke was wearing thin by that time. Anyway the robot was built by Mr Wilberforce played by Mike Stainton a mad inventor who wanted a mechanical home help. Micky's annoying catch phrase was 'Boogie Boogie' and it would move it's arms and do a dance at the same time. Micky would also get into all sorts of scrapes using magic mostly directed at Granny played by Irene Handl. The Robot made it's first Tv debut on the kids show 'Saturday Banana' then got it's own show. The series ran for four series from 1980 to 1983 with 39 episodes in total. The series was produced and conceived by Micky Dolenz of the Tv 'Monkeys' fame. It's great to see this reach Dvd after so many years and will bring back many memories. It wasn't the best comedy ever but it was very much of it's time with the 'White Hot' 1980's computer revolution.
