This will wear out your DVD player!.......2007-05-01
Our 4yo daughter loves The Wiggles and we rented this one because we are sick of her playing her two Christmas ones in April!
She loved it and played it at least one, if not twice, a day. She particularly likes the ones which also feature on her Wiggly Guitar such as "flap your wings just like a birdy" (don't know it's name but you get the drift!).
Quite educational as well as they speak to a firefighter, a fruiter, a doctor and Kieren Perkins about swim safety.
Highly recommended.
Perfect for small children.......2006-11-23
We bought this DVD for my 22 month old son a couple of months ago, and he absolutely loves it. The songs are surprisingly catchy and original (for children's songs, anyway) and it's all very colourful and cheerful - perfect for very young children. The only downside is that we have to watch it about 3 times a day. Overall I'd say this is highly recommended for children around 2 years old (and probably a bit older too).
wiggle-tastic!.......2006-08-04
This was our first Wiggles purchase, after seeing them live at Manchester.
I have never seen the tv show, but I must admit that the songs on the DVD are really catchy, and our 3yr old has been singing them constantly. I think it has a dvd player dedicated to it at present.
Oh no.... now I am singing them too!
The songs are very wholesome and have an educational slant, but are still good fun and the whole show is very colourful and bold.
The bonus features two fantastic 'Lights-Camera-Action' Wiggles shows, which adds more songs and longevity to the DVD.
Cheers now,
Martin
ps. WAKE UP JEFF !!!
Not as good as 'Hoop-de-doo'.......2006-07-07
My two and a half year old son is a hard core 'Wiggles' fan, well as hard core as a two year old can be. So when I saw an advert for this DVD on TV I instantly ordered it, mainly to give me a break from the songs on 'hoop-de-doo'!
Sadly this isn't as good as the afore mentioned DVD. Firstly, the cover image is bizarre - the Wiggles appear to have been badly photo-shopped, their heads have been imported onto bodies that clearly aren't theirs. Perhaps this is a sign that the Wiggles are getting older.
Like 'Hoop-de-do' the extra features are slightly disappointing; the 'juke-box' is basically a scene selector. The two 'bonus episodes' are ok, but if you have Nick Jr it's nothing your child won't have seen.
The songs themselves are mediocre at best and largely samey. The backgrounds are nondescript and very little expense seems to have been spent, especially given The Wiggles' much-publicised profit-margin. My son loves the fire-engine song but this is because he loves fire engines!
My main criticism is that it just doesn't get the same "Again, again" or "'iggle Time!" reaction that 'Hoop-de-do' gets.
