4 out of 5 stars CB4.......2004-06-14

in a nutshell, CB4 is a laugh in the face of the 'gangster rap' scene of the 1990's. It could loosely be described as a spoof to the scene, but isn't as obvious as the airplane or naked gun films. the film stars an early Chris Rock who was coming straight from his success in New Jack City, who plays the films leading character Albert Brown. Along with his two 'homies', they are the most hopeless rappers that has emerged on the rap scene in LA and are desperate for the 'big break' to set off their career. Then one night they are showcasing in a club and meet the notorious rapper MC Gusto, which gives them the idea to relaunch themselves as 'gangster rappers'. Things take a turn for the best and they suddenly are catapulted to stardom, with serious consequences. From then on in, the film really takes off and features cameos from Ice-T, Ice Cuve, MC Ren and Public Enemys Flavor Flav and Chuck D. If you like gangster rap, then this is the film for you.

4 out of 5 stars A good movie - worth watching if you know enough.......2003-09-09

The Japanese name for this movie is 'Ishinshisi he no Requiem' - The animation is exactly the same as the TV series of Rurouni Kenshin. Yes that's one reason why I liked it. With this animation you get the cute and funny facial expressions of Animé, including Kenshin's 'Oro?' expression, which is very cute (you'll see what I mean when you watch it in Japanese). Anyway, Kenshin and his buddies,Kaoru (girlfriend), Sanosuke (the dude with the red bandanna) and Yahiko are on a trip; ready to stop some action when necessary.

This movie mentions about a fallen Hitokiri called Gentatsu, whom has been deceased during the Revolution and his friends who are still alive are trying to fight justice for his sake. The main follower is a guy called Shigure Takimi. You also meet Gentatsu' sister Toki as well. You learn later that Gentatsu and Kenshin have met before in the past and more secrets are discovered between Kenshin, Shigure and his friends. I can't exactly give you a proper review on and suggest you go watch it yourself. However, if you have not seen enough episodes of the Rurouni Kenshin series, you may not understand who is who or how the characters have evolved. Also the dubbed voice actors aren't the same as the ones used in the series (plus are really unsuitable in this movie -.-). The music is great too :D The opening is called Niji (Rainbow) and is sung by the Jrock group L'arc en ciel. The ending song -can't remember the name from the top of my head XD- is a slow ballad and has a mixture of sad music but is fitting to close an action-packed movie. This movie is a lot more violent from the TV episodes I've seen of this series, mind you.
