Entertaining enough.......2008-02-13
But really for fans of young Lindsay Lohan and Tyra Banks.
The script is predictable. Young girl has lost her mother and tries to bring her back to life using a spell from the book of the dead. Instead the doll (Tyra) is brought to life. The occult part of the movie is small and if you can live with it, doesn't spoil the remainder.
The story focuses on the girl's initial hostility then friendship with her new companion.
If you watch any of America's Top model, you'll see a lot of Tyra's trademark comments and faces in this movie. Is she acting or it for real?
Overall a reasonable family movie.
A worrying start.......2008-02-04
I did worry at the start of this film. I bought it for my 8 year old daughter. It's a Disney film, it's U rated so when it starts off with the occult and Lindsay Lohan drawing pentagrams in her bedroom I did wonder just what was going on.
A couple of times there's some akward moments where you wonder if this film is going to go into "dark territory", like when the guy at the office is hitting on Eve, but, Disney seems to remember this is a kids film and the ending is a happy one.
Not great, and the start is very unusual for a Disney, but a bit of fun nevertheless.
It's alive, it's an unwanted doll it's Life size!.......2006-11-22
Life-Size is brilliant. When Casey's mother passes away her fathers work mate fancies him. The friend gets her a birthday present a doll that she dosen't want. Casey steals a book about bringing back the dead which is $150! She leaves a note saying IOU $85. She uses her mother's brush to bring her back to life. When the co-worker brushes the doll's hair with the brush and Casey casts the spell the doll's alive and Casey's father actually falls for her! Amazing isn't it! That's not all Im not going to give the game away! Get it remember a shopaholic whose never dressed herself before!
wow!.......2006-08-30
I loved this film, it was really warm and lighthearted, but probably best suited to a girly girl.
It stars a young lindsay Lohan who gets a doll for her birthday, and she does a spell and accidentally makes the doll come to life.
Theres plenty of humor and i really recommend it to anyone who likes this kind of film!
Great.......2006-02-22
I saw this film years and years ago on the Disney Channel, and loved it. I have since bought it on DVD and even though I am 18 now, I still think its great. At some parts who will be laughing, at Eve's mishaps, and then other moments your eyes will fill up. A great film for all ages, although perhaps more of a female than male audience. Its one you can watch over and over again.

Shipwrecked Plot.......2002-08-17
A very disappointing version of the Robert Louis Stevenson classic. This is not because of its obvious low budget but because of its completely inexplicable change of plot from the novel. There seems absolutely no reason why such a wonderful story has been tampered with - novels are often adapted for film but so far does this stray from the novel that poor old RLS must surely be spinning in his grave! What a pity, I quite enjoyed the sight of the Isle of Mann magically transformed in to a tropical island using nothing more than a couple of potted palms.
