What are you waiting for?.......2007-11-06
I would definitely purchase this for my little girl (that is if I had one), because I've been a little girl myself and I can tell you that this movie holds a place in my heart that is only rivalled by The little Mermaid!
You can't say much bad about this movie, the only things you could critisize would be the ones that makes this movie not QUITE 100% perfect. And that is in the eyes of an adult.
The drawings are beautiful, the story is great and the songs good, so I say this is well worth the money, and urge you to buy it! Every little girl should see this movie!
amazing.......2005-07-28
i also first watched this film at about the age of 7. Despite it's NOT being a one, it has the same charm, wit and quality of any Disney film.
I completely fell in love with it, so much so that i actually asked all my friends to call me 'Odette' (the name of the beautiful princess who is cursed to turn into a swan each day). And i made a resolution that when i was older, i would change my name legally to Odette.
But then, at that time changing names was aa craze for little girls, so a few months later i decided to change my name to something else...
I have watched this film so many times throughout my lifetime that i could probably recite it off by heart (including the songs) with only a couple of prompts throughout.
so dont hesitate to buy this film, because it'll be well worth your money

The first time I saw this film, I fell in love with it as 7 year old little princess myself! And even though a lot of time has passed since then, I still find myself singing the songs and re-watching it. This film is a great Disney movie and suitable for all ages, adults will enjoy some of the more grown-up comments and as a Disney expert, I would rate this up there with The Little Mermaid or Sleeping Beauty, two of my personal favourites. So don't be hesistant about buying this movie, its great for little princesses AND older Kings and Queens of the sofa!
BEST FILM EVER!!!.......2003-11-25
I first saw this film when I was around 6-7 yrs old, and I LOVED it! The songs are brilliant, and all my friends wanted to be just like Princess Odette......
It's 7 yrs later now, and I STILL watch this film. I know ALL the songs, and all my friends love it too. I know it sounds sad, but it's a REALLY great film and u'd b seriously stupid not to get it
A bit of an let down really.......2003-08-10
A young princess is bethroded to a prince the day she is born, boht parties' parents arrange that they meet every summer so they eventually fall in love, but instead exactly the opposite happens? Until one day, the princess and prince shed the scars of puberty and fall instantly in love.
On her way home he princess is attacked by an evil wizard, who wants to marry her so he can legally claim the throne and rule her lands. Until she accepts, she is turned into a swan every morning. Every one believes she has died, except the prince.
I had heard some rather good things about this feature:
Charming, magical and an all round beautiful story and setting, a perfect fairy tale.
And upon watching the film i found that these were all reasonably true, the story cetainly does enthrall you at times, BUT...
this is no great animated feature, and i feel as if the energy that has been put into one area( the songs mostly, you'll get one every ten minutes give or take...) could have been well used in others such as a higher level of humour and animation ( which is more similar to the quality of saturday morning cartoons than that of full length features).
Not that no energy was spent on these elements at all: You will get a good few laughs during the film, as there is humour of all sorts ( each represented by a different character), but it just isn't the level it could be.
I can certainly see it as a story a young girl will love, a young boy on the other hand, will absolutely hate it and i doubt very much an adult will enjoy it as much as they would other animated films.
I recommend, if you're really looking for something similar to this: "magic sword, a quest fo camelot". It is roughly the same sort of thing, lots of songs, but is just that notch better.
