I found this a great short nursery rhyme dvd/video for my children, but I mean short if you get my meaning! very fast paced so the young ones doesn't have chance to get restless, but too fast a paced that it ends up finished before you know it! The upside view is that it has plenty of the original nursery rhymes (none of the made up rubbish you find on some!) The downside is that it is just too short and they have missed out of some of the childrens favourites like Humpty Dumpty, Baa Baa Black sheep, ole king cole etc..which is a pity.

I was hoping to find the Wheels on the Bus sing-a-long programme that sometimes appears on GMTV at the weekends. Instead this DVD, which appears promising, is clearly a very low budget production. The animation is the worst I have seen in years, being of poor quality, with limited actions heavily repeated, which do not always accurately represent the nursery rhymes(eg. 'Dance to your Daddy' is supposed to be a 'laddie', but is depicted as a girl). The rhymes and songs are often either too old fashioned for today's children, the harsher version of the rhyme (ie. 'The lady who lives in the shoe' beats her children!) or with music that bears no resemblance to the current version sung by our children. I am not the most 'PC' parent I know. But please - DO NOT BUY IT!

The children loved this, the songs and actions are great and it helps them learn and keeps them quiet. Much better than putting a typical film on, they seem to enjoy it more too.
