Great show finally on DVD!.......2007-10-08

The Real Ghostbusters was the coolest cartoon you could watch as a kid growing up in the 1980's, the episodes are very random. It's a shame season boxed sets haven't been issued yet, but I'll definitely be buying them once they become available.

I got this and the "Adventures in Slime and Space" volume of the Real Ghostbusters DVDs while suffering a bit of nostalgic moment. I was totally obsessed with everything Ghostbusters back in the day so was keen to see how it had held up.

Alas, while the intro animation & music is still ace, the storylines still inventive, the main story animation has not aged well. As an adult I am now used to a much higher quality of animation that this cartoon just isn't up to and so is a bit distracting. Also, the story choices on both volumes aren't the best.

The Real Ghostbusters, finally out on DVD.......2004-07-09

Finally a true 80's toon clasic is out on DVD, 20 years ago this year the hit motion picture GHOSTBUSTERS was released by Columbia, two years later in 1986 the hit show the Real Ghostbusters (Currently being shown on FOX KIDS) hit the big time in the now long missed Saturday Morning Cartoon slot, the show follows the adventures of Ghostbusters Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler and Winston Zeddemore as they run around New York busting the paranormal.

'The Spirit Of Aunt Lois'

Ray's Aunt Lois invites him and the guys to a dinner event to witness the spiritual prowess of noted TV B-Celebrity Dr. Basingham. However things soon go wrong for the hapless spiritualist and professional paranormal eliminators.

'Beneath These Streets'

A series of strange tremors rock the city of New York as a summer heatwaves blasts the Ghostbusters, just what is the strange orange goo that's leaking out from drains and pipes all over the city, and what it it's connection with the lack of ghosts and the tremors coming from beneath the city streets?

'Ragnarock And Roll'

The Ghostbusters are being run ragged as the seas whip up and the sky turns fire-red, just what is going on in and outside of New York City, and what has it got to do with a man returning with an ominous song played through an unusual flute?

'Sea Fright'

A roving band of ghost pirates have sailed into New York harbour and it's up to the Ghostbusters to work out what's been the syren call for the skeletal Captain Jack Higgins and his water logged Galeon, the Stag.

The Best Of Scooby - Doo Movies...vol 1.......2007-07-21

GHASTLY GHOST TOWN...(THE THREE STOOGES). The Scooby-Doo Detectives forced to seek help on foot in the desert after their van is forced onto a sand dune by a low flying kig sized bat. They come across Moe Howard, Larry Fine and Curly-Joe DeRita, whose amusement park is really the one in need of help.
THE DYNAMIC SCOOBY-DOO AFFAIR...(BATMAN AND ROBIN). The Scooby-Doo crime stoppers team up to help The Dynamic Duo locate their missing vehicle. The trail leads to an abandoned carnival and counterfeiting ring run by those master criminals, The Joker and The Penguin.
THE FRICKERT FRACAS...(JONATHAN WINTERS). Thinking they will have a vacation from haunted houses and spooky characters when Jonathan Winters invites them to stay at Maude Frickert's farm Scooby-Doo and company soon learn differently when the place becomes over run and inundated with vandalizing scoundrels and living scarecrows. The reason for this raucous ruckus is that they are after a secret growth formula devised by Maude Frickert.
GUESS WHO'S KNOTT COMING TO DINNER...(DON KNOTTS). When Scooby-Doo and friends enter Moody Manor to ask someone for directions, they're mistakenly for the relatives of the estate's late owner by Don Knotts, who as the world's greatest detective (or so he believes!), suspects that one of them has done away with late Captain Moody.
