A cross between a Giallo and an Hitchcock film .... .......2007-07-31

Once again Anchor Bay have released a rare film and have pulled out all the stops. The print is excellent with no print damage and is presented in the original 1.66 aspect ratio. There is also a very intersting audio commentary track with the director John Hough and executive producer Bryan Forbes.

This is a British film set on the island of Malta and the basic plot concerns a young boy (who has the habit of crying wolf rather alot) who witnesses an assasination by a couple of policemen. Of course no one believes him. Only the killers know he saw them and now need to silence him forever....

This film reminds me of a cross between a Italian Giallo film and an Alfred Hitchcock film because of the suspence and fairly graphic violence. The cast is excellent and includes Lional Jeffries (Murder Ahoy), Peter Bowles (The Bounder), Peter Vaughn (A Warning To The Curious) and the lovely Susan George.

This is an excellent film. I had never seen it before but it caught my eye whilst browsing through Amazon. If you enjoy thrillers which are well written, well acted and well directed then buy this dvd you wont regret it.

A riveting 'on the edge of your seat' type movie!.......2007-01-25

A classic movie from the turn of the seventies in which Britain's FABULOUS Susan George gives her usual top performance; murder, lies, suspense, car-chases, and a little romance thrown in for good measure - it's all here!

Also stars many other top performers of the day including; Mark Lester, Lionel Jeffries, Peter Vaughan, and with Betty Marsden and Peter Bowles in their most dramatic film roles!

Adapted from an American Classic.......2008-02-26

Billy Coleman, a ten-year-old boy, wanted a pair of hunting dogs. Following his grandfather's advice, Billy worked hard and saved until he had enough money to buy them. The movie does not really show you that it took Billy two years to earn this money. Once he gets the dogs, Billy patiently trains them to hunt and they become the best in the state. Being best, however, is not always enough as love given and returned form the basis of true caring and courage. The hunting dogs, Old Dan and Little Ann are the true stars of this movie.
