Two great episodes of Postman Pat.......2006-08-15
Although there are only two episodes of Postman Pat on this DVD, it is still relatively good value as both episodes are feature-length, about 25 minutes each. I think both these episodes are fantastic, my two-year-old absolutely loves them. One of the episodes is a Christmasy theme, which makes you wonder if Santa does exist after all. The other is about the Greendale Rocket, the restored steam train when it first gets introduced into the series, along with the obligatory ethnic family who have since become regular characters of the TV show. Both episodes include a delightful song each, which are also featured as a special feature on the DVD, in a sing-along format. What more can I say? Great fun - get it for your little ones - I've never met a two-year-old who didn't like Postman Pat!
Brilliant.......2005-07-13
I thought this was a really good episode of Postman Pat!
I really liked the lighting and photography which was superb.
Whoever did it should be working on feature films!!!
Great fun for all the family.
The kids love it!.......2005-06-17
Although this is not the longest dvd and some people may say not such good value for money, I feel that its content is cheerful, educational, bright and fun. Well, I certainly didn't feel ripped off!! Well worth it for your little ones.
Not good value.......2004-11-11
Desipte being a fan of Postman Pat I think that it is not good value to have just 2 episodes on the tape.
Great fun for kids!!.......2003-11-25
This DVD contains two episodes. The fisrt one it has nothing two do with Christmas and the second one is linked to Christmas. The first story is about cooperation to help repair a train. It shows well how we need to help each other and cooperate so that things go better. In the second one, it is Christmas time and Postman Pat is very busy delivering the parcels. There is an scene where Postman Pat dresses as Santa Claus ot is it really Santa Claus? that is something that young kids will be eager to discover.
Kids learn to be helpful, appreciate hard work and respect the others. It is a nice way to have them enjoying and learning good values at the same time.
My children also enjoyed the fact that the video is not in cartoon but with puppets.

A Backyardigans medley.......2007-08-19
The Backyardigans series is one of the few children's shows that can be watched over and over again without causing involuntary twitches, nervous breakdowns or constant eye rolling on the part of adults. The five characters are extremely likeable, the episodes highly imaginative, and the selection of a different genre of music for each episode is a stroke of creative genius.
Two of the episodes on this DVD qualify for special praise in the musical department, and these are "Into the Deep" which uses Bollywood melodies, and "Catch That Butterfly" which is pure operatic brilliance. "Save the Day" is psychedelic soul and "Newsflash" is inspired by Motown music.
A summary of the four episodes on this DVD is below:
"Into the Deep" (summarized to the tune "Octopus's Garden")
Here you will see, under the sea
Tasha and Uniqua's garden in the shade
But don't go in, they'll cause a din
A little mermaids' garden escapade
Then undersea, came P and T
With their underwater plans for a movie
The girls freak out, and start to shout
But everything works out eventually
"Newsflash" (summarized to the tune "Oh What a Beautiful Morning")
There's some bright golden corn in the cornfields
There's some bright golden corn in the cornfields
The news people sigh, no newsflashes arise
When down at the farm, two guys sensationalize
Oh what a beautiful newsflash
Oh what a beautiful sight
I've got a wonderful feeling That there will be some news tonight
"Save the Day" (summarized to the tune "Pop Goes the Weasel")
Round and round the Harbor Patrol
The lady chased the whopper
The lady told them to get lost
And they couldn't stop her!
A jet ski for a sea of sharks
A chopper for a rescue
That's the way the story goes
Oh! What a whopper!
"Catch That Butterfly" (original lyrics from "Obsession" by Animotion)
I will have you
Yes I will have you
I will find a way and I will have you
Like a butterfly
A wild butterfly
I will collect you and capture you
No more needs to be said about this absolutely brilliant episode about a British bug collector and two helpful stagecoach drivers. Hi-ho old chap, I've said a mouthful here.
