The story continues once more.......2006-01-17
Episode 12 has Campion attacked by a hawk, but he isen't dead, so the Watership Down rabbits take him to a greenhouse to rest, but soon both Hazel and Campion are trapped inside with a hungry snake on their tail as both the Watership Down rabbits and the Efrafans are both on their way to the scene.
Episodes 13 and 14 (13 is the end of Series 1, while 14 starts off Series 2) is a two part story in which the Efrafans find Pipkin, after he was sweapt away by a river and is taken prisoner, however Woundwort has taken a liking into Pipkin and offers to exchange him for Hazel, Bigwig and Fiver.
As I said before plenty of action and drama in this volume, plus the welcome return of John Hurt (who was Hazel in the orginal 1978 film) as General Woundwort.
Despite the lack of extra features, this DVD is a must have for a Watership Down series fan.

A good start to the series.......2005-12-08
Episode 1 just basically tells how the rabbits got to Watership Down.
Episode 2 shows the rabbits dealing with a weasel, as well as some of their own personal problems like will the bucks pitch in to help Blackberry (who had been changed to a female for the series) with the digging.
And Episode 3 which will probably be the best episode on the disk for movie and book fans as it introduces us to Cowslip's Warren with Stephen Fry as Cowslip himself.
Overall a great start to the series.

Fans of the book will probably like this volume more because it has episode plots based from the book.
Episodes 4 and 5 introduce us to the Efrafan rabbits, while Episode 6 has the raid on Nuthanger Farm by Hazel to release the hutch rabbits there.
Overall an exellent DVD, though like all of the series DVD it only has an episode selection and a 'play all' option on the main menu.
Despite that, it's still exellent.

The 3rd volume of the series........2006-01-12
Episodes 7 and 8 were left out however from this volume.
But instead there's episodes 10 and 11, where the rabbits raid Nuthanger Farm for some flayrah and poor Fiver gets trapped underneath a wheelbarrow and the farm cat is there too wanting to eat up poor Fiver, and Hawkbit, Fiver and Hazel soon find themselves trapped in underground caverns beneath the down.
There is a couple of Efrafan scenes in Episode 11, but that's about it.
Overall not a bad volume, with it's moments of drama and humour.

Another adventure filled volume.......2006-01-19
Episodes 15 and 16 is considered a two-parter, though there isen't a cliffhanger.
Kehaar (played by Rik Mayall) is homesick, so Hazel, Pipkin and a few other Watership Down rabbits decide to go with him to visit the seagull's home at the 'big water', but end up getting lost at a market, but they soon find their way to the 'big water', but they loose sight of Kehaar.
Kehaar however is visiting some of his old friends, but realise how awfull they are when they start to attack some neighbouring puffins, which Kehaar later befriends and the puffins soon help Kehaar when the rabbits get trapped by the incoming tide.
Episode 17 sees a welcome return of Cowslip (Stephan Fry) as the Watership Down rabbits set free some more of his rabbits including Hickory who is played by 24's Kiefer Sutherland and Marigold played by Stephanie Morganstern (who plays Sailor Venus in the dic dub of Sailor Moon).
The new rabbits try to adjust to the new way of life, but Hickory soon gets stuck on one side of a busy road, meanwhile Pipkin feels overprotected after his recent encounter with the Efrafans.
Overall not a bad volume with plenty of celebrities lending their vocal talents and a welcome return for Cowslip.
