A warm Yuletide special, A Muppet Family Christmas pairs the Muppet gang with the perennial favourite Sesame Street cast for a seasonal celebration. With a blizzard brewing outside, Fozzie's childhood farmhouse on Christmas Eve becomes the backdrop for a medley of holiday tunes--eight in all--ranging from the Muppet band's rousing "Jingle Bell Rock" to Big Bird's sweet rendition of "The Christmas Song". Though the script meanders in part, the 42-minute programme shines as a musical revue, seasoned with quick-witted interludes by the culinary comedic Swedish Chef, slapstick odd couple Ernie and Bert, and the diva-like escapades of Miss Piggy. While lacking the irresistible sizzle of The Muppet Movie, the show's finale, which includes Kermit and Piggy under the mistletoe and a cameo appearance by Jim Henson, proves that nothing can dim the Muppets' appeal. --Lynn Gibson

In the 50-minute Christmas TV Special, The Christmas Toy, Rugby the Tiger is Jamie's favourite Christmas toy from last year. Rugby is convinced that he will be wrapped up and placed under the tree again this year. When it's Christmas Eve and all the other toys try to explain to him that that is not going to happen, Rugby decides to take matters into his own paws and place himself under the tree. He makes the dangerous trip from the playroom to the living room trying not to be seen, for if a toy's secret of being able to move when humans aren't around is discovered, it becomes frozen forever. Now all his friends from the toy room must get him back before it's too late. This sweet story about friendship and loyalty is delightful, as are the songs, including "Try the Impossible" and "Old Friends". Think Toy Story with Muppetts. --Peggy Maltby-Etra

Christmas fun with the Muppets!.......2004-01-06

This is a lovely addition to any Muppet fans collection.

The Muppets are heading to Fozzie's family home - a surprise for his mother who has her alternative Christmas holiday plans spectacularly disrupted!

Zany as ever, the regular Muppet cast are joined by the Fraggles, the Sesame Street gang and a turkey trying to make it through to the other side of the holiday season!

So go on - join Kermit, Fozzie, Miss Piggy and pals for a lovely Muppet Family Christmas ... Oh! just before I forget - "Mind that icy patch!" (if you buy the film and you'll get the joke!)

Error on disk2.......2007-09-06

This is a fantastic animation project and i have been waiting for several months to get it, but please if you are watching in order be aware that the episodes on disk 2 of this are NOT in the correct order so you may have to watch episode by episode, on my copy, (which i am sure is the same as everyone elses)episodes 11 & 12 are the wrong way around and also if you select them from the menu you also get the other. othewise this is excellent.

Fantastic Series.......2007-06-13

Initially, I would like to explain myself for submitting a review for something not yet released. But, I have seen the entire series, on various channels, and have been blown away. Another thing, I believe that this series is not very well known and deserves all the advertising it can get.
The story follows the Earth time, and especially the new pilot of the Wizzing Arrow, Molly. She is recruited by Don Wei, the team manager, to initially win the competition, and then succeed on Oban, to obtain the 'ultimate prize'. Along the way there are a few rather obvious plot twists, subterfuge among the opposing teams, and betrayal.
You may think that watching race after race in these craft may lose its appeal. Not so. The animation is truly astounding, the writers have conjured up such a varied and motley crew of contestants and aliens, with all manner of weapons, devices and competition rules, that this never becomes an issue.
For many years there have not been any decent series like this, now 2 come along at once (I speak of Avatar) to truly spoil us. You can see the painstaking effort the entire team behind this have put in, and it would be such a shame if such an outstanding series should sink without a trace among other much hyped, but inferior, efforts.

Nice patriotic formula movie.......2007-09-30

A hand full of Canadian bush pilots (James Cagney, Dennis Morgan, Alan Hale, George Tobias, and Reginald Gardiner) has a dream of owning their own airline. Naturally a girl (Brenda Marshall) gets in the mix. James Cagney has to sacrifice himself and money (by getting married) to save Dennis Morgan from marring this unreliable woman and losing his dream.
Through all kinds of misunderstandings the pilots all end up in the Royal Air Force planning to give it to those Nazis. Each pilot still brings his bush nature with him; for many that nature may mean their demise.
