Younger fans are spoiled.......2008-01-12
Those of us going to concerts pre-VCR days and only lucky enough to get an occasional clip on TOTP or PGWT aret he ones who will truly appreciate gems like this.
Yes, the sound is not up to the standards of 2007.
It's 30 year old low budget footage !
It's a godsend to us older fans to get stuff like this, and they did a very nice job by adding in the interviews, the 83 show and the extra audio CD.
There isn't a lot of Pro-Shot Lizzy footage around, be thankful we finally get this one.
old material re-hashed.......2007-12-26
If you don't have any Lizzy material on DVD or VHS then this is fine. If you have Lizzy live at the Rainbow on VHS then don't buy this, as it is the same show rehashed under a new title. The live and dangerous album remains a classic which this material only occasionally gets near. Soundwise, whereas my L&D vinyl is amazing, this is mushy, too much bass. Unless you are a collector or super fan rent this off Amazon, seeing once will be ample.
I saw them on the L&D tour.......2007-12-25
NOSTALGIA - pure and simple. It's been too long to quibble about this and that. This DVD is great - the interviews are really rather special. I saw the TL twice at Newcastle City Hall - post-L&D and on the Black Rose tour. Such fun, let's not get hung up about the sound etc. Phil Lynott was a true one-off and we should celebrate that - I had such a great time seeing the band and, to this day, listening to them. If you liked Thin Lizzy, buy this now, you won't be disappointed.

" Lizzie" Explosive Rock Band........2007-12-04
I saw Thin Lizzie live in would you believe, as small venue in the south east of England during one of their punishing UK tours. cannot place the year. But do remember them being a truly great live band in every sense of the word. I could hardly believe the sounds and atmosphere they generated in that place. Their signature tracks were always and enhancement of the origional and NEVER a disapointment on stage as with some bands .
This DVD (x2) captures that in all respects except for the sound quality which is only fair, but far from good and even poor in places. I have a really good surround sound system but failed to get real justice for this great, great band. But I am still glad I have purchased it. Those duelling lead guitars and Phils crouching aggression on base took me back to that gig so long ago now. It is all there for us to savour. Launching straight from one track into the next. Brilliant. Favorites. Dont Believe a Word. Boys are Back and Rosalie but there is not a bad one in there really. I would go as far as to say Lizzie was the best live band I ever saw ( never did see the Stones live at their peak which I do regret ) Definitely worth having in your collection.
Great Concert poor sound quality.......2007-11-15
After waiting so long to get this concert on DVD I feel let down. The 3 best tracks are missing, COWBOY SONG/SUICIDE/THE ROCKER. What we do get are 2 excellent live shows but who mixed the sound? I have DTS and it sounded like a cheap stereo, surely a bit more effort could have been taken. If you want to see Thin Lizzy when they were on top form and can put up with crap sound then buy it.
