superb dvd for all crowded house fans.......2003-10-24
this dvd is superb, absolutely superb!! The videos create a great timeline for the bands career and give more meanignt o each of the songs featured. The best videos on the dvd have to be "not the girl you think you are", "locked out" and "world where you live". all totally insane and quite funny!
i would recommend this to any fan of the band and also to those who are just getting into the music
For the diehard fans only.......2003-02-08
The music in undeniably brilliant while the videos are a superb way of following this band's extraodinary career from the early days through to the end. Some of them are hilariously dated and have not stood the test of time, but diehard fans shouldn't let this deter them from taking a peek; if nothing else, it's an interesting way to follow Neil Finn's everchanging hairstyles! However, the DVD as a whole is slightly cheap and nasty; the images are grainy (this is no digital remaster) and there are no special features to elevate the collection from the ordinary to the superb. This is surprising given that the band must have loads of "extra" footage (interviews, concert footage etc) that could have been used to make the DVD worth its weight in gold. If you're a long-time fan, there's nothing on here you haven't seen before. As long as you realise this, the DVD shouldn't disappoint, but I would definitely say it's only for devotees of Crowded House and/or Neil Finn.
Good, but a you can only have so many computer graphics!.......2002-12-27
This DVD was long awaited, especially for die hard fans. Watching this DVD, I was reminded of the tackyness of the late 1980s and early 1990s. I got the impression watching these videos that the Crowded House boys had just discovered computer imaging, and so the videos are spattered with such nightmarish occurences as Neil Finn's head in a tree and a praying mantis playing a piano. Also contains a very funny interview from Anchorage.
Their are, however, some very good videos. Well worth shelling out for if you're a die hard fan, but if you're a Crowded House first timer, this could really put you off.
