From the very start to the present day, a great dvd to watch or even have playing in the background as your doing your daily chores;-)
I've bought three of these dvd's one for myself and 2 for friends. Money well spent.
Go on buy a copy, I did.(3 times)

The Stereophonics' Live at Cardiff Castle is best summed up by one of the punters interviewed before the start of the show: "They're just a real band, aren't they. There's no rubbish going on--no nice haircuts or leather trousers. They're a proper band." More than that, they come across as indie's answer to the classic power trio--assuming anyone remembers the question--belting out an amazing set to a 10,000 strong audience in the gorgeous grounds of Cardiff Castle on a glorious summer's day in 1998. Fans will find all their favourites here, and the perfectly captured atmosphere is effectively the band's fourth member.

On the DVD: Live at Cardiff on disc contains no sign of the "open and humorous interview" which, according to the back cover blurb, is supposed to be intercut with the concert footage. There is, however, a moment or two of pre-concert chat with various smug management and record company types who provide their smarmy appraisal of the band that pays their salaries. Just ignore them and enjoy the gig, which, in fact, is all there is on this 4:3 DVD anyway. There are no special features at all.--Roger Thomas

A Quality DVD at a quality price!!!.......2001-10-20

This DVD shows the Stereophonics at their best and includes song tracks performed live from their albums 'Word gets around' and 'Performance and cocktails. Well worth watching for all fans of indie music, or even for the neutral music listener.

i must admit im the biggest stereophonics fan in the world and was not disappointed by this. a great mixture of songs and in a non-byast way i'd recommend this for lovers of rock, grunge and open-minded people 4 sumone who doesn't like 2 listen 2 music or wants 2 start listenin then this is a great start. it shows that they are not a bunch of butlins red coats who need all the recording equipment under the sun to make them sound good like steps. this is what a true british band should be play their own music ability to sing live and write their own songs this DVD is a great example of a true british band at their best and i sincearly hope that you buy this especially at the price it is a bargin for a DVD. It doesn't matter whether you buy it on video or DVD but i'd take the oppertunity and e-mail me and tell me what u think of it aswell and thank me for the advice because you will love it

DURAN DURAN ARE DEFINATELY BACK!!!.......2006-04-16

WOW is the word I would use to describe this DVD. You are looking at 5 gorgeous, young looking 40 something year olds who would give the bands of today a run for their money. Since Duran Duran's inception in 1978, they have played to millions of fans around the world, they have sold 70 million + records, & what you see on the DVD is one of the 5 sold out shows at Wembley stadium. This concert is so energy packed that just watching the DVD burns you out because you cannot sit still in your seats! You will also see a polished, professional performance by the fab 5 & the highlights have got to be Reach Up for the Sunrise, Come Undone, A View to a Kill, The Chauffeur, I Don't Want your Love (Much improved on the album version), Notorious, Careless Memories. Ah what the heck they all sound incredible! I only wish that all the songs were present on the CD of the deluxe version. This is an absolute must have - So if you still haven't got your copy GO GET IT NOW!!!!!

Duran Duran are at there finest here on there latest live concert performing 19 of there best tracks. It's a real joy to see an un-edited concert by the guys since they got back together. Simon le Bon is in fine voice and is loving every minute of it as are the fans in the packed Wembley. It's a real trip back to the 1980's with classics such as Rio, Wild Boys , Hungry like the Wolf. Not to mention selected tracks from there fantastic new album 'Astronought'. I hope the guys are back to stay with another album to follow as the break has done them good. The guys do now look there years but are still in trim and put on a fantastic show. As a fan or even a casual buyer , get this DVD as it's brilliant fun.

What a fantastic DVD - I went 3 times to see this show live and the DVD does not disappoint. As a die hard duranie it is superb value for money as well as entertainment.

The only disappointing thing I found is that The Reflex is not on the CD which is a shame because they performed this really well.

Watching the dvd it becomes clear to you just how much energy and presence the band has. The songs just rock from start to end. Like any good band they really focus on their performance and are not afraid to improvise and reinvent their older songs. This is one of the best concert dvd's I've seen and I mean it's right up there with Van Halen, Queen, Sabbath and Iron Maiden. Well I still don't have The Who on dvd... But seriously this is an essential concert to have, you'll want to view it repeatedly. And I don't mean just Duran diehards.

This is a deserved gift to all the patient duranies who kept on singin along with them all the way. And for the first-timers and the new generation entering the duranie world, this is 'D U Package'. Not even a second passed by without exitement. Probably the best and stylistic performance of all time over all.
