The last great jam of the 60's.......2007-06-25

The 1960's was about more than just psychedelia and bubblegum, and everything bar these is to be found in this amazing jam from a disused English factory in 1969: blues, electric blues, soul, jazz fusion and pure jazz, with literally the best musicians of the decade, black and white, British and American, sharing the stage. Stars of the show undoubtedly are Buddy Miles, Buddy Guy and Jack Bruce who, with saxophonists Dick Heckstall-Smith and Chris Mercer, are together for most of the numbers. There are also two numbers each from Jon Hiseman's Colosseum, the Roland Kirk Quartet and the sublime Modern Jazz Quartet, and one from Glen Campbell (not the Rhinestone Cowboy but the steel guitarist from the Misunderstood). A word of warning to fans of Stephen Stills and Eric Clapton - although they are at their best, Stills only has lead vocals on one number and Clapton only has a guitar solo on one number, plus a tantalising duel with Buddy Guy lasting only a few seconds. Bottom line - if I could go back in time but I could only go to one gig, I think this would be the one.

No Led Zeppelin on this one.......2006-06-08

This is basically a VERY GOOD Jazz DVD, although there are fine contributions from Stephen Stills (Black Queen) and blues from Buddy Guy and Eric Clapton.

If you are looking for Zep on this disk you won't find them.

I still highly recommend this DVD.

Don't make the mistake I did..........2006-01-04

Although this DVD has some fantastic rugby on it and it was a great tour, there is no behind the scenes footage or player cams, etc. It is just match highlights. For all the other stuff you want lions up close and personal.
