Manilow Magic!.......2007-04-20
What a superb DVD. I bought this not realising it was in NTSC, but luckily found that my DVD player plays it anyway. The quality of the recording, sound and particularly video is, quite simply, stunning. It is the best quality DVD I've ever seen, and I only have a 'big fat box' TV - I can only imagine what it looks like on an HDMI screen. I've watched it so many times I've lost count, and on a quality Dolby 5.1 system it's just like being at the Hilton in Las Vegas. Even my kids like it, asking to watch some more from it next time. This is the best £12 or so you'll spend in a long time. So, whether you're a Manilow fan or not, treat yourself to the best DVD I've ever enjoyed.

A truly wonderful concert from a magnificent showman. He has lost none of the magic that has seen him at the top of his profession for over 30 years. I have watched this dvd countless times and it is a must for any true Barry fan!

Brilliant thoroughly enjoyed. A true showman in every sense of the word and beautiful 30 piece orchestra! Definitely worth buying at any price.

Even before he steps out onto the stage, the audience is on its feet clapping and screaming for Barry Manilow in Manilow Live!, which was filmed in Nashville in February 2000. Walking out and launching into "Could it Be Magic?" Manilow proves his pipes are as strong and clear as ever and his suits still as dapper. He promises "beautiful melodies, passionate lyrics, great grooves, and maybe even some swivelling hips", to the delight of the sold-out house.
A consummate showman, Manilow performs 24 of his biggest hits accompanied by full orchestra. During "Can't Smile Without You", the audience holds up signs bearing smiley faces, hearts, and "ME" in hopes that the singer will pick them for his traditional duet. "Bandstand Boogie," the long-time theme song for American Bandstand, rocks the house, then Manilow brings it down for perennial favourite, "Mandy", which segues into "Even Now". His timing is impeccable, and he knows exactly how to work the adoring crowd. The accordion interlude is particularly amusing, as is "Flight of the Bumblebee" played on a kazoo. Mixing pop, jazz, disco and big band, Manilow moves smoothly through the two-hour set, alternately sitting at the piano or standing at the mike. The bluesy "That's Life" gets an infusion of energy from audience participation, and "Copacabana" is just as infectious as ever (with Manilow doing a little of that hip-swivelling). Ending with a heartfelt encore of "Stars in the Night", Manilow Live! is a must-have for fans. --Dana Van Nest, Amazon.com

Barry is so Great!.......2007-11-03
My Mum and I first saw this on T.V . I later bought it for her as a present but we both love and adore Barry. This concert from Nashville includes a full live orchestra. check out the wonderful 'look at the stars' from his musical, 'Harmony' he is witty and entertainig as usual ans colpletely makes you feel as if he is singing just for you. As he himself says
'I hope you're feeling great, if you're not, I'm here to make you feel better' right on Barry

Barry is great, but this is not his best!.......2002-11-28
Having been a Manilow fan right from the late seventies, I have to say that whilst he is as entertaining and professional as ever, this for me, is not one of his better live performances. The opening ten minutes is nauseating with Barry lapping up the applause for too long and not getting on with it! A little bit too much chit chat and not enough singing which is frustrating as right behind him is a superb full orchestra. That said the second half was better than the first. However, his superb Manilow sings Sinatra album the songs of which I hoped would be featured greatly in this concert were not, and based on this I found this video unsatisfactory. But hey! guess what! I still love him!
BARRY DOES IT AGAIN.......2000-11-20
Barry is really relaxed and it shows, the fans are enjoying the show just as much as Barry is, surely thats what its all about. Not many performers give as much as Barry, it makes me so happy & proud to be a fan. l would recomend this to anyone who wants to watch a great performance. ENJOY...

Barry Manilow is a consummate performer. From the standard classics like' Could it Be Magic' through the Sinatra influenced 'That's Life' to the hauntingly beautiful 'Every Single Day', this video demonstrates the unigue style of this gifted showman.

The best thing since sliced bread.......2004-12-12
I got this DVD as a present for my 18th. Yes- someone who is 18 likes Barry Manilow. Here we see Manilow at what can only be described as his best, doing a whole range of songs including Somewhere in the Night, I Write the Songs and Copacabana among others. We also see Barry playing Flight of the Bumblebee on the Kazoo. Is there anything this man can't do? (other than smile without you)It is phenomenal. But what really blew my head off was when he sang Weekend in New England. Any true-blue Barry fan knows that his voice is exceptional, but in this one he starts doing the song and gets his voice to sound really really powerful and just like it did in the 70s. I would highly recommend this DVD to everyone and even if they dont like Barry Manilow, strap them to the chair and make them watch it. They'll soon change their minds!
When he arrives on stage, he opens with Could It Be Magic and goes on to promise powerful ballads, groovy beats and some swivelling hips if we're lucky. And by God we are. He delivers every single time. Full of great songs and hilarity, this is a must have for everyone.
But my mum hated it. Then again she never did have good taste!
