Amazon.co.uk Review
Judging by the style of a fair proportion of the videos on Changing Faces you would think that Mrs Redknapp (nee Nurding) is a futuristic, Barbarella-style pop chick. From her second solo video, "In Walked Love" (where she replicates the look of Kylie circa 1995) through to "Arms Around the World" and "Beautiful Inside", space-age settings and costumes abound. Admittedly it's rather strange labelling Louise as Miss Modernist, but take a look at the video to "Let's Go Round Again" where she's running around a futuristic factory complex, in a tight red leather suit--it's all rather progressive to say the least.
Despite such raunchiness in later productions, and suggestive titles such as "Naked", it is not until her fourth single, "Undivided Love", that a male romantic figure is introduced (this was also around the time she became a Loaded magazine pin-up fave). Perhaps it was the record company's initial desire to nurture Louise as a wholesome girl-next-door figure that resulted in the poor lass having to star single-handedly in the early videos.
Forgetting about the love interests and the futuristic themes the best videos are the message-laden "2 Faced" (complete with a one-dimensional supporting cast) and Reservoir Dogs-style promo for "Stuck in the Middle With You". Symbolically reflecting its title this collection traces the various guises of Louise over the years--watch her mature from an angel-faced songstress to the stunning, confident performer of today.
On the DVD: attractively laid out, the menus are easy and fun to use, with the main menu allowing you to play the videos, browse the photo gallery or connect to an exclusive Web link. The video sub-menu allows you to select whether you want Louise to introduce each of the videos, play them back-to-back (with no introduction), or choose to watch them individually. If the videos are played individually, another sub-menu pops up with the highest chart position and year of release. Unlike the CD version, the DVD fails to include any of Louise's Eternal videos ("Just a Step from Heaven", "Oh Baby I" and "Stay"). The photo gallery is also rather limited, including just eight shots of Mrs Redknapp from the "Stuck in the Middle" video, but this inadequacy is compensated by the DVD's glossy insert which provides a comprehensive Louise cover anthology. --John Galilee

Louise - Changing Faces.......2002-06-23
Quite simply if you like Louise you will love this DVD. However there are two drawbacks. There are no Eternal videos and despite the prescence of Louise herself giving a quick overview of each video there is little else in the way of extras. However the 11 videos are a treat, especially the video to "beautiful inside" and this DVD does have a decent running time.
This DVD is thus one for any fans of the lovely Louise. You will not be disappointed with the music or the videos.
Beautiful inside..... this disc!.......2001-11-09
This compilation contains all of Louise's solo videos, and also includes interviews on each video. The picture quality on this DVD is one of the best I have seen, well defined. My only critical comment would be a Dolby Surround track is missing, saying that the sound is PCM CD quality and faultess. The videos are well produced and varied, showing Louise throughtout her 5 years as a solo artist to present time, I enjoyed them. If you like her music, this DVD is a must for all fans. The DVD user interface / menu screen is good, you can select just videos or interviews and video as you want to see them. Great disc from a talented lady, let's hope to see her on DVD live in the future.

WOW-WEE. this is hot!!!!.......2006-08-25
I thought this was the best and most orignal karaoke DVD by far. I ahve seen alot but IMC Vision definitly managed to capture what Grease is all about, this was particually shown in the final song where a group of kids managed to act out the song almost as well as the actual cast of grease.
This is highly recommended by me and my friends. We do have fun singing along to Grease Karaoke DVDs. I must admit I own most of them, but this one is my favourite
Into line guys.......2005-01-31
Grease is one of my all-time favourites - bar none! So when I got this karaoke DVD, I knew it was going to be difficult to match the music and direction of the original film.
The DVD contains the most popular tracks from the soundtrack but "Blue Moon" "Raining on Prom Night" are two of my favourites that have been omitted. The operation of the DVD is simple... the menu structures is laid out with thumbnails over 3 menus covering each song. The tracks are not listed in a table where one can select a song directly. This would have been more convenient.
When playing the song, I find myself criticising the same old problems with karaoke DVDs. That is, a singer singing over the chorus and the opening line of a verse. This is very irritating and I cannot stand it. The videos played to the background of the lyrics are really quite appropriate but perhaps a little jerky.
That said, the lyrics are clear and there are prompts for the girl and the boy on the two duet tracks. However, the sync is not always precise. Tracks include - We go together, Greased Lightning, Hound dog, There are worse things I could do, You're the one that I want, Beauty School dropout, Sandy, Look at me I'm Sandra Dee, Freddy my love, Grease, Summer Nights and Hopelessly devoted to you.
I wasn't bowled over with the DVD and there must be better out there somewhere.
absolutely fab!!!!.......2002-07-02
This dvd has the most popular songs from the film/musical - including Grease is the work, hopelessly devoted to you, grease lighting (with a few rude lyrics), Summer lovin' (which is great in a duet) and not forgetting smash hit - we go together (which is funni as some of the words are not propa words!). Very fun, great for parties - althought doesnt have original footage from the film, still very good dvd! Highly recommended for any grease lovers, and for parties.
What a disappointment.......2002-06-13
I read the above review and expected footage of the original film, which was disappointing, and the cheesy home made films accompanying the songs just made me laugh out loud so hard I couldn't sing.
The songs are not the original ones either, and left me singing along to what I remembered from the film, and didn't scan exactly the same.
Still, better to just watch the original and sing along with that, I guess.
Best Kareoke to go with the best film!!!.......2001-11-08
When i watched grease i loved every song to it. They are all so fantastic so i bought the cd but when this came i just couldnt resist. It shows you some of the film and the lyrics on it is such a great bonus. Getting up and singing along to it makes you feel as if you are the person in the film . It can be used to lighten up any party and you will probably want to sing along on your own to really get into the feel. Well over all its a great dvd and something every grease lover should own!!!

She's (not) Just a Broadway Baby.......2003-09-15
I saw Elaine Stritch perform her one-woman show in London's Old Vic Theatre last Autumn. She had extraordinary energy. I hope this recording captures the same atmosphere. The marathon show contained very honest and often funny reminiscences, including her recollections of understudying Ethel Merman, dating Marlon Brando, and her past association with alcoholism. Cracking songs too! She recalled the golden age of Broadway, with a life full of real talent and hard graft. (It makes you wonder at today's so-called superstars, who expend more effort manipulating the media than they do developing their craft). This will be a treasure.

Roy Harper re-discovered........2006-11-08
I am always looking for new music DVD's that will entertain and stimulate.
When I noticed that Roy had a new release on DVD I was immediately tempted to make the purchase, but not being too familiar with his work I must own up to degree of doubt.I eventually decided to take the plunge and I am so glad that I did.The track selection and sound quality are excellent.Roy is backed up on guitar by Matt Churchill for most of the tracks and they compliment each other wonderfuly. It is twenty years since I last seriously listened to Roy's work and this release has shown me what I have been missing.Absolutely brilliant - a bargain!!
Mark. T from Warwick .......2006-04-22
I've been a fan of Roys since about 1990......so a bit of a newbie compared to some. I also got to finally meet him last year and shake his hand & ask about the DVD. Well here it is!
I read the sleeve notes first and was a bit apprehensive about the DVD afterwards due to it's documented struggle to get acceptable footage in Debarras. As soon as i played the first track "tom tiddlers ground" though my fears had subsided and i couldn't stop until i'd seen the whole DVD & then watched the extras & then watched it again so now feel qualified to review it on first reflections and refractions at least. The pastural, natural, trippy images used to highlight many of the songs work very well, especially with "green man" and "frozen moment". The extras include an interview with Roy, an interesting (?) small take on "Have a Cigar" and seemingly a lesson in hanging washing out to dry and fashionable wellies (always handy) amongst a few others. The DVD menus are also beautiful to look at and easy to use.
I've been waiting over 15 years for this and wasn't dissapointed which is remarkable given my high expectations. I now have Roy visually in my living room whenever i like (i hope he doesn't mind) & would recommend anyone to give Roy a listen and say goodbye to woolly and non factual thinking and embrace one of the most honest and self-realising (is that a word?) artists working today with a heart on his sleeve. If you've never been to one of his gigs, i guarantee afterwards you'll feel you've known him and been a friend of his all your life. Artistry should always make you think, question and opinionate which is something Roy requires of the listener to appreciate his insights.
The only criticism i have is i wish there was more older footage from Roys career, maybe that will happen one day in his planned documentary, maybe he can get martin scorcese to direct?
Buy this DVD, the future of this earth depends upon it.
