Does not teach screaming.......2007-09-12
Over the course of this 145min DVD there is less than 1 minute explaining techniques for screaming. The DVD will teach you techniques for breath control, resonance, pitching etc... all the things you'd learn from any decent DVD or book about vocal technique for any singing style. If you can scream already then these vocal techniques may help you to do it more efficiently. If you can't already do it though, the DVD will not teach you how to scream.
Zen screaming .......2007-08-13
This DVD is great, & i strongly believe you should buy this DVD before you even try to scream! the techniques in this DVD will stop you from hurting your vocal chords & will make your breaths long enough to sustain even the longist notes & sentencese....
I have brought 4 DVDs recently on singing tution from a classical, pop, contempery & now screaming.... this one as a overall DVD is the best! Its explained in such an easy way a that monkey could even understand, it has great excercises (more than most DVDs) & a great breathing section (far superier to other DVDs) & it also gives pitching tips that other DVDs seem to forget to even mention! as well as its sectioned out very well there is advice/opinions including; Andrew W.K, Lamb of God, H20 & many more professionals,
This is a must for all wanna be singers of Rock, metal type genres of any sub-genre... a master class

Packed with features you will watch again and again.......2003-08-20
This DVD contains a lot of features, many of which you will watch a lot more than one time. As well as roughly a 20 minute documentary on the life of 50 Cent and a Tony Yayo interview from his prison cell, viewers are treated to music videos, 'Making Of' music videos, performances from 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks in the studio ('Wanksta', 'In Da Club' and 'I call the shots round here') and best of all LIVE performances from the Detroit show in February 2003.
At the Detroit live show, 50 performed a number of great songs from his amazing set of tracks, and Eminem, Lloyd Banks, Obie Trice and D 12 also rapped on stage, which is all on this DVD. You'll see the crowd go wild as they perform songs such as 'U Not Like Me' and 'Wanksta' to name but a few. Obie makes an appearance to play his part in the 'Love Me' song, and is great on the mic. This part of the DVD is very good.
The main documentary is interesting. Some hardcore 50 Cent fans might know most of what is said already. But if you know nothing about 50 Cent's past or how he got shot, etc, then this is for you. Tony Yayo's interview isn't particularly brilliant, but it's okay if a little too short.
There is also a bonus CD which contains 3 tracks, including a remix of Eminem's 8 Mile Road track by G Unit.
All in all I'd say this was a good purchase if you like 50 Cent. It's quite informative and the features will keep you entertained for a good while.
The New Breed hits the mark........2003-06-06
The New Breed is an excellent introduction to 50 Cent and his life. The DVD contains a detailed documentary informing you of 50 Cent's history and day to day antics. It's a good documentary and it taught me a few things I didn't know about 50.
There are 4 music videos on the DVD with a "Making of" for "Wanksta" and "In Da Club" though anyone that watches MTV will probably have seem most of the Footage for the "in Da Club" section. There are two good live sections on the DVD, one from a studio session at AOL and one live on stage from Detroit. It's a good showcase of 50's talent and and also has cameo's from other Shady/Aftermath artists like Eminem and D-12
The bonus CD contains three tracks you can't get on any other CD which is another reason to spend the money on this.
The only problem with this DVD is that some of the footage is used more than once and if you own the Bonus version of 50 Cent's album then you'll have seen some of the footage on the free DVD that comes with that.
Overall a good DVD and well worth buying.

Not exactly what is says on the tin........2007-02-09
This dvd is called the zen of 'screaming' and it doesnt teach you how to scream. in fact, half way through the dvd one of mellissa's students says 'the rest is a secret. go and see melissa to learn the good stuff'.
if you can already scream well and want to improve your singing and correct note hitting then its worth getting, but like me and many others, this dvd is not what we need. we need a good metal vocal training dvd! is there one out there...?

If you are into Heavy metal singing/screaming this one is for you. There is over two hours of footage, ranging from lessons that you can easily follow, and do at home or at practice; to testimonials from the stars that have been thought by this incredible lady. I learnt a lot about what part of my body forms the mechanism of singing...you unlearn bad patterns and bad habit and this will truly transform the way you approach singing, heavy metal singing, talking....and it will lead you to the path of correct singing. An item to have if you are a singer or an aspiring singer.
