Recorded in April 2001 at the Manhattan Centre in New York for an American cable television series The Bees Gees--Live by Request is a live anthology of the group's four decades of hits. The show allows fans at home and in the theatre to interact with their favourite stars and request favourite songs (a cross between ITV's An Audience with... and MTV's Unplugged). A great visual companion to their audio best of collection The Record, the release contains live performances of favourites along with less familiar tracks from their 25th album This Is Where I Came In. The acoustic medley of some of their best-loved compositions (including "Islands in the Stream" and "Woman in Love") is by far the high-point of the show. The release would have benefited though if the request/presenter sections of the show had been edited out. These segments lack any spontaneity, are heavily scripted and are particularly wooden, although the Gibbs' conversation with cranky fan Donna from Boulder is highly entertaining.

On The DVD:Severely lacking in extras (the original programme trailer is the only added feature) the DVD is redeemed by the excellent audio recordings and stunning opening animation. The show can be played in Dolby 2.0 and 5.1, or in DTS format. Individual concert tracks can also be rapidly by accessed from the sub-menu. Due to the NTSC recording the picture quality is at times compromised, and is only available in standard picture format. --John Galilee

An Intimate Concert - The Best!.......2002-12-04

Recording with an audience of less than 1,000, this DVD feels like a club recording with it's Dolby Ditigal and DTS audio sound. Host Mark McEwen gushes a tad much and the 'Live by Request' gimmick is not original. Still, it manages to captivate. Fifteen songs (one a medley of eight), five being from the last album, it's a collection that defies the ear with the groups tight instrumentals and harmonies. "She Keep On Coming" and "You Should Be Dancing" rock the house, while "Sacred Trust" and "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" lull the audience into a trance. This recording is unique in that there are plenty of star 'call-ins' and lots of joking around. Its surprising to hear Barry sing, "Woman In Love", but "Nights On Broadway" is, once again, cut far too short for a song that contains some of their best work.

This is as close as a great live recording gets and a DVD well worth owning. "One Night Only" is a great live recording as well, but nothing matches the intimacy of this presentation.

This concert is simply amazing! It's not as long as "One night only" and it doesn't contain "Stayin alive". But nothing beats the intimacy of this performance. The audience is small and the Bee Gees are allowed to talk and joke between songs. Their vocals are as good as ever, and even though Barry seems to have lost a little of his ability, his mature voice and warm charisma more than makes up for it. Robin is the one who shines most bright here with a truly jawdropping version of "I started a joke". Don't rob yourself of experiencing this concert by not buying this DVD. Sound and audio are EXCELLENT. The Bee Gees are the best band on earth. Still.

Once again Bob does a fine job of explaining and demonstrating the art of fishing, this time with a whip.You can see why he has been world champion 4 times, he puts plenty of information in his session which is invaluable to both novice and seasoned anglers alike.

Fantastic DVD Buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2007-07-19

I've been wanting to order for this ages and when I finally found it on Amazon I ordered it straight anyway. It is only just over a hour long but I think it's worth every penny and I would highly recommend it. Two GREAT British fighters at the peak of their powers producing one of the greatest fights of all time.

Brilliant fight and ITV commentry is also good.
A lack of fight build up but the fight is superb.
