Q-Tastic .......2007-10-05

after purchasing the borg fan collection on I wandered if they would release a q-best off, and they did. Q Is one of the best characters from STNG always playing god and games with TNG crew it was him that introduced us too the borg which is on this set. I wasnt too keen on the voyager episodes which he was in it I felt they were running out of ideas and lacked the spark that picard/q relationship had. But overall i found this set value was for money and brought back many fond memories of some quality startrek episodes. having seen some boring episodes of startrek ive found these fan box sets really good as they have some of the best starrek episodes and at good value saving you too buy the series box sets. time travel/borg and klingon collective are also available. There are no real features on this disc set it would of been great too see a interview with John de Lancie (q) bud sadly not there some text commentarys on this disc but thats it. any 4.9/5

quantum leap what where you thinking?.......2007-05-24

for anyone, who like me, loves baseball, this is a must have, unfortunatly quantum leap have ruined it with poor front end menus, and to cut and compress a 10 disc box set down to 4 is unforgivable, pick it up second hand if possible, its not worth the full price, because of quantum leaps hack job, why do we have to put up with sloppy seconds here in the uk? the 5 stars go to ken burns, and his production team.

A first rate documentary.......2007-04-28

This is a fine example of Ken Burn's work. Like much of his work he uses one piece of American culture as a window onto the story of civil rights. The quality of the music and speech is first rate and the program uses Burn's trademark technique of using contempory still photographs with narration over the top.
Watching this will inform you about the story of the game which is vital to an understanding of the American psyche. Even those, like me, who have never really had an interest in American Rounders will come away thrilled by the legends of Babe Ruth, Golden Joe and of course Jackie Robinson. The program contains an extract from the eulogy at Robinson's funeral given by Jesse Jackson- and that is worth the price of the documentary alone.

This is an excellent video, poetic and patriotic, unfortunately the DVD authoring is less then amatuer. The visual quality of its interactive menu is horrendous, with 6 chapters on the second disk without audio playback!!
