Thrilling!!!.......2006-11-26
This season of Star Trek sets it's standards high. Some of the episodes have your teeth clenched with fear and how can everything turn out right. Somehow, the Enterprise survives and lives on.
There are some appearences from Tasha Yarr which is a twist to the tale because she died in series one. Q makes an appearence when he's lost all of his powers and the war with the Romulans starts to get tense.
My favourite episodes are Yesterdays Enterprise, Evolution, The survivors, Booby trap, Deja Q, Captains holiday, Menage a troi, Transfigurations and Best of both Worlds. Even though these are my favourites, there are none which I don't like.
Sometimes the picture quality isn't quite up to scratch. I feel as though if you had a big screen, it would look blurred at times. Also, the first part of best of both worlds is good, but you have to buy series 4 to descover the outcome. Apart from that, it's fantastic.
Just think, you're getting 25 episodes of Star Trek!. And you won't regret it if you buy one. Highly recommended and loads of fun.
About time but .................2006-04-25
Its baout time they released a smaller verson of the box set - the old ones were huge
Amazon.co.uk Review
"Let's make sure history never forgets the name Enterprise", remarks a steely Picard in "Yesterday's Enterprise", one of the highlights of Star Trek: The Next Generation's remarkable third season. Not a chance, Captain. Thanks to new uniforms, a new look and strong new writing, this was the Next Gen's breakthrough year.
Cast changes solidified the team, with the return of Dr Crusher and LaForge now promoted to Chief Engineer. Worf got a meaty story arc all of his own ("The Sins of the Father") and Data made himself a daughter ("The Offspring"). Picard had a romantic vacation in "Captain's Holiday", and semi-regular crewmember Reg Barclay showed us that not everyone in Starfleet was perfect ("Hollow Pursuits"). By the time it reached its breathtaking Borg cliffhanger "The Best of Both Worlds, Part 1", there was no longer any doubt that this show really was going where none had gone before.
On the DVD Star Trek: The Next Generation's third season on disc comes packaged in the now-familiar solid grey outer casing containing a seven-disc fold-out. The extra features follow the same pattern as before, with a "Mission Overview" for Year 3 and "Selected Crew Analysis", in which the new, old and returning cast members talk about this season in then and now interviews. The "Departmental Briefing" looks behind the scenes at the Production, with comments from, among many others, executive producer Michael Piller, visual effects supervisor Dan Curry, technical advisor Mike Okuda, and new composer Jay Chattaway. The "Memorable Missions" looks at the many season highs. The 1.33:1 picture quality is better than ever before, as is the vivid Dolby 5.1 surround. --Mark Walker

Star Trek The Next Generation - SEASON 3.......2006-04-21
This was the season which set the tone for the rest of the series, there are many episodes that where very memerable to fans of Star Trek such as Yesterdays Enterprise in which the Enterprise is cought in a alternate timeline, and where we meet tasha yar once again (seen in Season one) you also have Sins of the farther where worf must redeem his farthers name, and of course the season finale, The Best of Both Worlds, Part 1, was by far the best episode of the show, and the turning point of the entire show and Star Trek it's self, If you love Star Trek, then you will love this season!

A Much Needed Turning Point.......2003-11-09
Season 3 is the backbone of 'The Next Generation' franchise. In this series we come to know the crew of the enterprise more personally than ever before. We learn more about their lives off the enterprise, and more about their families and personal tastes. Hahaha, some absolutely fantastic holla-deck moments to enjoy :)
Adapting the series in this way, especially after the disastrous season 2, was a gamble but one that was well timed and thought out. The episodes in this series (which directly lead onto series 4), change the way we look at TNG, and encourage our interest in the subsequent series'. The Next Generation was much in need of re-vamping, and this is where it happened.
You will enjoy this series very much, and the last episode in the series "The Best of Both Worlds" is a perfect way to gear you up for series 4, which by the way, is almost as good as this one :)
Where it all starts to come together.......2003-08-02
The first two seasons of the Next Generation certainly weren't bad, with some classic episodes and the gradual development of charchters, but this season is where the show repeatedly hit the nail on the head. There aren't quite as many stand out shows here as in season 4, but a genuine feeling of quality in writing, acting and set-design graces the show.
