Not really a review.......2007-12-04
As the title says this is not really a review, I like the film watched it a few time but it defiantly does not deserve 5 stars, 4 stars is even pushing it. I just want to say if you like the idea of the movie or just think it looks cool read the Graphic Novel which is much better and in my humble opinion is the greatest Graphic Novel ever written.
Very Powerful.......2007-11-05
"V for Vendetta" does not show how things could become, but is a look at how things have become in the U.S. and other countries as well. To get a better idea of what the world has become (although the politicians are trying their darnedest to keep it hidden) one only needs to watch "V for Vendetta" to pierce the veil that hides the truth from so many.
This movie shows the psychopathic people who are in control of a country and how they are abusing their power, as all psychopaths do. And although I am not endorsing the way that the revenge of "V" was handled, there is a sense of encouragement that one has while watching the movie.
I think that "V for Vendetta" is a very important movie in its own right. It brings to light the true face behind the mask of those who are in power right now in real life. It is a movie that needs to be seen by those who think that their governments have their best interests at heart. To show them that 'Big Brother' is already here.
This is happening today people - WAKE UP!!!!.......2007-11-05
A tremendous film for the times we live in today. Although it is set in the future the parallels to the propagandised society in which we live today are clear for those who are paying attention.
Real-life Iraq footage is used in the film to convey to the people that they are at war against an unseen enemy and the government will supposedly protect them. - at the same time the government develops biological weapons to use on its own population - backed up by all the bigbrother- cctv- surveillance techniques that are been enforced upon our society today.
The deep meaning behind this film cannot and should not be ignored. If we all stand up against the lies and fearmongering, our very numbers can create the change that needs to happen if humanity is to survive.
Don't believe me? watch it and see..... you'll be shouting BS at evert TV news broadcast too!!!

Wachowski brothers never upsets me with their timely, relevant, deep thought provoking movies with a great spiritual message. This is a great movie for who ever craves for freedom,logic, decency and purpose in every day reality. Though a Movie, it has the potential for revealing the "man behind the Mask" in our everyday political fascist reality. great movie ,a must see for every man in the civilized world.

V for Vendetta is an excellent film from the Wachowski Brothers, and not your typical comic book film. What's immediately striking are the parallels the government propaganda and terror in the film have with certain western governments in the world today. It's an inspirational film, and gives some hope that people can unify in taking back their lives from lying, pathocratic government officials in a non-violent way. People shouldn't be afraid of their government...
A must watch for everyone.

It's Amazing!
It's... Not Quite As Good First One.
The Only Reason I Think It's Not As Good Is Because Of The Atmosphere.
Being On An Exploding Planet Is WAY Cooler Than Some Random Place, I Reccomend It Though.
Also, If Your A Fan Of DBZ You MUST See The First One!!!
Decent DBZ movie but very weak!.......2005-07-27
I had really high hopes for this film to be just as brilliant as the first Broly film along with the 4th film Lord Slug, but somehow I was very disappointed when the small bunch of characters that this movie focused on like Gohan, Goten, Trunks, Videl, Krillin and best of all my hero, Goku!
Sadly this was a huge let-down, there was no Vegeta, just a tiny glimpse of Piccolo without any lines and no Master Roshi getting drunk and being comical like he was the first time Broly appeared to challenge Goku!
Overall 5/10 for plot, soundtrack and action, but 3/10 for lack of favourite characters and comedy!

i thought that this movie was just as good as the last one it had violence funnynes and over all it was good broly the sechond coming is great broly has come back for round two and this time he is as vecious as last time. he stumbles accros goten and trunks broly thinking goten is goku and he beats them badly but gohan comes along and has got alot more powerful then last time and gives broly a good run but were is goku to save them.

Broly The Legendary Super Saiyan was a great Dragonball Z Movie. It rocked. This however is no where near as good. The plot and the fact is seems more like the light hearted Great Saiayaman saga to a destructive, rocking Broly film lets this down. the fight scenes are good and the animation is DBZ at its best, and the rock music is good too. I would rather get the japanese version for some scenes they left out, even in the uncut version. This si still not a bad DBZ purchase but if you want action then get broly the Legendary Super saiyan or Super Android 13 or Bojack unbound, hey you can get an Uncut Cooler's Revenge on here for £3-4
broly's second coming.......2005-05-08
Broly's second coming is one of the best dragonball z films I have ever seen. From the word go you are waiting in suspense, as the storyline is just brilliant, what you learn at the start of the film through flash backs was that broly came to a devastating end in the first film but now thanks to a brainiac scientist and a wealthy man intent on world domination saves broly from certain death, which is why most of the z fighters are very shocked to see Broly as they thought that he was dead after his fight with Goku in the first film. The fight scenes in this film are excellent, it makes you feel bad for the z fighters as Broly fights without fear of anything that stands in his way, he is truly an awesome fighter, and with great rock style music as the fight scenes begin makes this film a huge success. One of the several things I loved about this film was its ending. Well I wont say what happens, but lets just say that the ending blows you off your feet. It is a truly exciting film and it is without a doubt worth every penny, a must have for all dragonball z maniacs that's why I have given it top marks and well deserved i think.

Good old space story.......2007-06-23
Don't be put off with "it's a cartoon view". This is a very good simple story; 2 sides, one good, one bad. Been there? Got the T shirt? Well this tells the story through the eyes of some kids and a young reporter. The upshot is that the pace of the film is slick and you never feel you are being left behind by the plot. Another good manga Si-Fi, not as good as the likes of Akira, but a worthy film to add to any collection.
An overlooked classic.......2006-08-21
In my experience only serious or "Hardcore" animé fans have
ever heard of Venus Wars and its a real shame because this
animé is one of the best I have ever seen.
I only just finished watching the film myself and it has really
left an impression on me, although the music of the film and
sadly the english dubbing are a bit dated (80's time warp anyone?)
the overall feeling you get when you watch this film is great,
The civillians living in the ocupied city of Ishtar are the film's
main focus and this leads to some compelling viewing, although yes
the fighting and monobike scenes are mindblowing (way ahead of their time)
the people behind the war are what keep you hooked to the screen.
Its a very unique approach to war, especially where animé is concerned
alot of animé concern themselves with flashy fight scenes involving
oversized robots mashing each other to pieces,which in my
opinion can make for some pretty monotonous viewing and
although this animé does have alot of action its nicely paced
and central to the story and the character's development.
If you like the Gundam series or Evangellion then you will like
VW, there is one downside though and that is the release quality,
The picture is stunning and the sound is perfect the problem is
with the special features..... there is none, all you get is
a few links to certain key moments in the film and Manga
C.O.R.P.S trailers thats it, but i think its worth it just to
get this film.
I would have given this animé 5 stars but the lack of special
features on the dvd let down a brilliant film.

Worth buying! quite simply!
You follow the adventures of a monobike gang, particularly the leader, Hero (voiced by Ben Fairman). The human race has managed to set-up small colonies on Venus, but have split up into two sections, Ishtar and Aphrodia, which are now at war.
It's a good story, compelling and original in it's day.
It's an old manga with some dodgy animation but that's what gives this film some huge piles of charm.
There are some darn good voice talents in this film, so anyone on the listen-out for well-known voice actors, this is a treasure-trove full of them!

This anime is nice but not one of the best.
Its about Venus having a bad government so the people rebel in the end the people throw the government and get freedom.

Venus Wars concerns the planet Venus, which, after having been hit by an ice-planet, is now capable of supporting life, and interstellar travel between Earth and Venus is now available, 70 years after the landmark (sorry) incident.
Unfortunately, a general named Gerhard Donner, Ishtar's war criminal, attempts to overthrow Aphrodia. After taking over Aphrodia's capital Io (pronounced 'eye-oh'), a local group of bikers known as the Killer Commandos, with the help of an Earth reporter named Sue, try and foil their plans.
Brilliant animation (for late-80's), generally inspired voice casting and dubbing (Ben Fairman voices Killer Commando hot-head Hiro excellently, and Denica Fairman as Sue and Bob Sessions as Gary, who looks after the Killer Commandos and is himself a war veteran), coupled with a pretty good story make brilliant viewing - and the songs contained within are stunning, especially the one at the end.
Great fun, slightly let down by a slow-paced initial 20 minutes or so.
