Amazon.co.uk Review
Yes, that is Bill Paxton as Mitchell-Smith's militaristic big brother. And that's Robert Downey Jr. as one of the in-crowd jerks who makes nerds Mitchell-Smith and Hall's lives miserable. Fortunately, this is a John Hughes comedy and our smart nerds create the perfect woman, Lisa (Kelly LeBrock), using a computer and voodoo. Lisa is a willing sex toy, has magical powers, and just wants to help the boys get even and meet nice babes. She even cleans up. The fantasy ebullience of Hughes is given full rein here and that's good and bad (mostly good). It's all aimed at a certain kind of hormone-addled, 16-year-old sensibility; but who doesn't have a little bit of that in them? --Keith Simanton, Amazon.com

1980s Must HAVE!!!!!.......2004-01-16
This is a story for every adolescent. It's imaginative, it's well-written, and it's sexy. This is a movie filled w/ great actors... Kelly LeBrock (Where is she now?), Robert Downey Jr., Gary, and Wyatt... scenes in the movie will have you replaying them in real life. A highschool/ College must have. In fact my all time favorite movie! Buy it now!!!!
Another ace by the greatest teen film director of all time!.......2002-04-28
A great must see movie by the legendary John Hughes. This movie captures the anxiety and curiosity of every teenager, using the two main characters as their dream comes true of creating their own perfect woman. They then embark on a great adventure on the stages of growing up, with some of the scenes almost surreal and so entertaining. With stars such as Bill Paxton, Kelly Le Brock and Robert Downey JR this film is a classic, one of the best movies made in the 1980's. This is a must for all cult 80's films followers as well as teenagers and family alike. A very entertaining movie.
enough one liners to last a lifetime.......2002-01-27
I have been rabbiting on about this film for years now and those years have not worn away my love and enthusiasm for it. Forget your worries for a while, kick back and glean the wealth of one liners that this film has to offer and believe me, there's quite a few to keep your mates amused (or bored) down the pub. Just buy it!
True 80s classic.......2000-08-20
Yep, this sort-of Frankenstein remake is an always funny movie, and absolutely sums up the 80s teen-flick genre. It's very, very silly, but the performances are so snappy, the dialogue so wilfully glib, and the storyline so alluringly nonsensical, you just can't help laughing along. It must be something about this particular film, because back in the 80s, like the previous reviewer, I and a friend memorised the entire film without even trying and would often quote whole scenes to the amazement and delight of all and sundry.
This film is genuinely funny.......2000-08-16
I agree with the review below, this film is so indicative of the 80s it is hilarious. I first saw this when I was about 14 (in 1988) and at the time had memorised loads of the dialogue. When I saw it again for the first time the other week, I was amazed by how much I remembered. It really is funny. Of course there are some downsides: Kelly Le Brock has to be THE worst actress ever, while some of the plot is just rubbish and doesn't really make sense. But the rapport between the two leads, not to mention the scene-stealing cameos from Bill Paxton make this a film to remember. When Chett screams at his brother to 'cover yourself' I nearly wet myself.
